i have to redraw this artwork (EXACTLY) here at work but the supplied art work isnt large enough for me to be able to tell what this exactly looks like. i know its the letter A though.... anyone know the name for it so i can find a better quality image to redraw from?

i found many 'Shields" with that logo, see above post for latin translation, but the shield is dificult to track. Most likely a Family shield? Hmm, maybe a college or university shield, with Pirate as mascot?

These more typically are called Family Crest's or Family or Coat of Arms... search those terms... many more hits.

I don't have time to search right now but it has to be some college or private school and the latin is the school slogan, I'm assuming the mascot is a pirate, and its in PA because of the keystones. I'm pretty sure the things on the right have to deal with the christian religion so, to summarize:

private school
latin slogan
pirate mascot
in pa
possibly religious

I don't think its a family coat of arms. I have never seen one with a pirate, normally its a knight.

I would guess its a a school's coat of arms. the keystone and crosses might mean its a cathloic school in pennsylvania. And the pirate as the schools mascot

the symbol in the middle does resemble a quill pen like chansifril said. Which would support the idea of it being a schools coat or arms
