Where to buy a new laptop battery

Alright, my laptop's battery took a **** it won't hold a charge for more then 10 min. Of course it had to happen 2 days before I leave for school..

Anyway, I'm looking it up on Acer's website and the battery is $150. Is there any shops or sites that sell cheaper then that? Or am I basically stuck getting it straight from the manufacturer?

Any help is appreciated.

Ebay, it'll probably be your cheapest bet. Just make sure its OEM or OE certified. I was looking into getting a new one for my mac since I know the apple store will charge an arm and a leg.

Got mine from batteries.com for my hp. It wouldn't hold a charge at all. If I pulled the plug it would die. It was only 100 bucks. You're probably not going to find any much cheaper then that.

Sorry I got confused. So you got your battery from batteries.com and it was a POS? Or your original was and you got a good one from batteries.com?

I just got it a few weeks ago and it seems alright. It'll last for maybe 4 hours or so depending on what I'm doing. I never had a laptop before and it was my friends so I got it cheap. I have no problems with it yet. When I was looking I was unable to find "stock" hp ones for a decent price.

Yea all the ones straight from Acer are like $150.
I found one on some battery site for $68 and it says its a direct replacement. So that's the best I got so far..

4 hours is really good for a laptop, especially if thats with the brightness up, sound on, etc. etc.

And $68 is a really really good price. I'd probably go for that one.

That's a good deal. Pretty much as long as it's a Li battery which they all are you're good. I'm the type that would rather buy the stock battery but I can't see them being that much better. I think for $68 that's a steal.

Edit: Actually mine was around that. I paid an arm and a leg for faster shipping because I thought I was going to need it before the weekend so I can move to an opensource tune so I could data log but that didn't happen. lol
