Scuba Diving lessons in the Lehigh Valley?

I was just wondering if anyone has taken lessons in or around the Lehigh Valley? I think someone that came to the tuesday night meets was taking lessons. Where is a good place to go? How long it takes and how much it costs?

i took them but didnt finish, it wasnt in the lehigh valley but most scuba shops offer lesson, and u will probaly take ur 2 dives in a quarry in the lehigh valley. it was like 200-300 for maybe 8 lessons 2-3 hours each about i think, then u take 2 dives at the quarry, its like an extra 300 cuz u gotta pay to enter the quarry, it might be more. just go to a local scuba shop, or call up different places for prices, i took my lessons in a high school indoor pool. if they offer a wet suit for a small fee id go for it, they charged like 30 bucks total for the the lesson days, i didnt get one because i thought id be fine, ur warm at first but after being in the water for a long time u will start to shiver.

I know this is my work cutting into this, but they use a pretty expensive casket for the Dragula.

It was $350 for the class which was held at cedar crest college. you do 4 classes in the pool. then you go to dutch springs to get certified and that is 2 dives saturday and 2 dives sunday. it takes a month. the 350 includes rental fee for tanks bcd weights and wet suit. you have to buy fiins, mask, snorkle and boots. costs about another $200. and you also have to pay to get a two day pass for dutch springs which is like $62. that is for the padi open water. i dont know how much naui open water is but its probably about that same.
link for the dive shop i singed up at. the guys there are real nice.

Thanks for your help. Are the classes normally held on the weekends? Also do they only do it a certain time of year or is it year around? How thick are their wetsuits? I have a 4mm for surfing in the winter and 4 or 5mm boots. I would have to buy the rest of the stuff though.

Just trying to figure out if I can get this done before xmas so that I can head to mozambique to go diving with a friend.

mine were on tuesday nite for the pool then the weekend after the 4th tuesday pool session was the 4 certification dives. the last naui open water is in october. i dont know about padi i can ask my instructor if he is doing any more this year i'll see him wednesday. the rental wetsuits are 7mm farmer john style so in the torso you have 14mm i was plenty warm. it depends on how deep you go i went on wednesday the first dive we were mostly in the 50' range and the average temp was 58 i started to get a little chilly after about 30 min the second dive we were high 30's to mid 40 foot and the temp was in the low 60's i was warm. i would use your wetsuit and rent the gloves and hood and if you need them ware them. i have not used a hood or gloves yet
