Attn: Dodge neon SRT-4 owners

Why are Neon SRT-4 owners always revving at me??

I was pumping gas today, and a guy in a Neon SRT was sitting at a light staring me down while revving his engine at me.

The other day I was sitting in traffic on Roosevelt Blvd and a Neon SRT behind me started revving it up real hard.

Yesterday, I was stopped at a light and someone in a Neon SRT passing through the intersection threw me a nasty look and revved it up.

I was on my way home from work today, sitting in traffic, and a guy in a Neon SRT going the other way revved it up so I could hear his BOV.

What the hell?!?! Am I supposed to stop pumping gas, run a red light, or yank the ebrake and pull a 180 turn to come race you?? I mean seriously, what does that accomplish???

Does it prove you are tough beecause your car is nice and loud because it doesn't have mufflers?? Does it make you feel good revving at cars going the other way, or even ones that aren't even running? Do you rev at parked cars in the mall parking lot??

I don't get this treatment from anything other than neons. I don't get revved at by Evo's, STi's, 350z's, RX8's, or Supra's. Only neons. Is it because of the kind of person who buys an SRT?? I dont know.

Seriously, someone tell me why this happens.

because a lot of srt owners are 16 year old morons who feel the need to rev and race anything and everything they see. this is their first or close to first car, it's faster than many cars out there, and they feel the need to prove it to themselves every time they drive it. don't worry, they'll get their asses handed to them eventually and they'll learn.

you seem to have a lot of srts in your area, where in pa are you?

I travel all over for work, so I see a lot of cars.

I was up and down NJ rt 130 today, tomorrow I'll be in Northeast Phila, Wednesday I'll be in Brick/Toms River NJ, Thursday I'll be in Norristown PA, and Friday I'll be at the Jersey shore.

But I live just outside Philadelphia.

LOL, Justin's Mom Cars is pretty loud. Then again I can't hear myself think inside my car lol. I think it is because most of the owners are younger kids who think they are bad. If your going to rev, pull in the parking lot and see if he wants to run.

Don't feel too bad, I can't even hear my cell phone or radio in mine, having no floors and hooker exhaust does wonders on the eardrums...weird, its even quieter when you get on it and hear the turbo whine....as opposed to sitting at a stoplight

Tim, I re-instated the insurance, when you coming for a ride? IM LEGAL!

Exactly what i was gonna say. Its just somethign that goes along with the car being semi-affordable. It sucks cause its a cool car, just some of the owners give the whole group a bad image. Kind of like the people who buy hondas and throw a fart can on have ruined that cars image for all the trulely well done hondas out there.

Wow...now I feel like an ass! I always give the BOV salute to nice cars. Its my way of saying "Hey! Nice car man!"... :-/

But I don't really rev at anyone, just put it in gear, build boost, then let off the throttle.

And yes, my BOV is loud as hell! lol

Like PSI Chick said, every dumbass who can afford one is going out and buying one. I remember talking to so many friggin' stupid ****s at Atco last season that had absolutely NO CLUE about their srt-4. They bought it "because it's supposed to be fast or something." Direct quote from an owner. I've talked to maybe 8 srt owners. I'd say 2 had a clue and knew what they were doing. It's ashame they give the crowd a bad rep.

What pisses me off about it is that I see SRTs getting a bad rep like the old Honda guys, and SRTs aren't bad cars.

the ONLY time I get revved at is when im either A) sitting in traffic, or B) the guy is going the other way. They are almost always punks in hondas...although it has happened in a couple cavaliers with exhaust as well.

People tend to rev on my car while it's parked in my driveway... The best was when some kid in a Saab tried to do a burnout in front of my house and smoked his clutch...

haha i get the same thing matthew! there's this punk in a dropped riced out civic in my neighborhood. he just drives up and down my block making lots of noise all the time. i know he's there for me, as i live on an off street and it doesn't actually go anywhere, so unless you live on it there's no reason for you to be here, and i know where he lives. it's rather funny, i feel for the kid.

another guy in a white jetta that's just nasty looking does the same thing. i was outside with my dog one day and he drove by attempting to rev at me, but the car was in such bad shape that as soon as he got on it the thing sputtered and died on him. i had to help him push start it

HHAHA ^^^ is classic!

But on another note, I am guilty of often timing my shifts according to where people are standing on the street, or where cars I pass have their windows open...lol
