Saturday I was pulled over and recieved a ticket for not having my licence with me. I was at englishtown that day and had to rent a helmet and they took my licence as collateral. I had to run to quickcheck for ATF because my car was leaking fluid. That was when I was pulled over.
A friend told me I could get out of the ticket by mailing them a copy of my licence with a not guilty plee written on it.
Is that true or do I have to show up in court?
I dont want to do this and find out in three weeks that I have a warrent but I dont want to drive all the way back there either.

I also recived a ticket in another town three days prior for a fialure to inspect.
I had just gotten the car running and was on my way there.
I went strait to the inspection station and failed.
If I show them the paperwork will they drop the charge?

I apologize if this is a waste of your time but I can't afford to pay them and buy my college books this semester and I am desperate for some help. Thank you!

Did you explane this to the officer at the time? If you did and he still issued you the summons the only way you can deal with this now is to go to court. Ask to speak to the Prosecutor and see if they will drop the charges. The fact is you were driving without a DL on you. I really don't understand why the track took your DL?

They just wanted it as collateral.. i guess so i didnt steal their helmet?
I did explain it to him and he acted nice but called another officer to come and give him a new ticket book so he could write me a ticket

Well that sucks yeah the only thing you can do is go to court or pay it. if you pay it make sure its for not having a DL in your posssion. not unlicensed driving.
