D3 meets an OLD friend

Here is a shot from a recent trip to Bar Harbor in Maine. I used my D3 and a 20+ year old AF Nikor 35-70 3.3-4.5 lens. I haven't touched this lens in over 10 years. It just sat in a drawer next to my Nikon 8008s film body. I think the D3 really likes this old Nikon glass. AF speed on the D3 is reasonable, not lightning fast, but plenty adequate for a walk about lens. Comments?

i like the composition of the photo, and the mood of the colors is nice, but it doesnt have that 'pop' to it... i feel like checking your white point might really bring things to life here.

Nice photo. The lighting is really good. Bar Harbor is an awesome place to visit. Went there probably like 10 years ago for a family vacation. Now that i'm into photography i'd love to go back.

The colors are pretty much as they were. The boats were well weathered and the day was gray and foggy. I processed it a few ways, and this version, replicates the scene the way I saw it. I can add "pop" to the photo for sure, but IMO, it would negatively affect the mood I was trying to create and add color that was simply not there.

Thanks Andrew. We really need to get some shooting done before school starts for you. I have a show this weekend to shoot in NY, so maybe next weekend?

Judging from the reflections in the water, and the way the rest of the image looks. Im guessing it was an overcast date.

Im sure it was fun to bring back to life that old lens of yours.

I think the shot is amazing!
