I hate ignorance, never go to colonial subaru!

I absolutley HATE when people take one look at you and assume you dont know what you are talking about.

Reason:

I went to subaru today because i got a letter for a tsb for 02 abs controller. I also was having problems with the transmission the recently fixed. SO i tell them how the trans is making noise and if they could check it out. As i am sitting outside the guy drives past me and i hear the noise plain as day. He comes back out, parks the car and takes the keys inside. I go inside to see whats up. The srevice writer, some old bitter man, looks at me and says we cant touch anything you modified your exhaust. OK, now i know i dont give off the best impression, for any of you who know me i think you know what i mean, I have a mohawk, tight black shirt, plugs in my ear, torn jeans and skate shoes. But PLEASE dont take me as stupid!

So i say nicely to him, actually sir, its against the law to void a waranty, you can deny a claim if a performance modification is directly correlated to the problem but that is all. Furthermore, the exhaust was actually on the car when i brought it in for the trans service. His reply to me is, well all we hear is the exhaust rattling. We also cant do the TSB because you have new brake pads. SO i say....SO i assume that everyone with an 02 will not be able to have their ABS fixed unless they have chosen to spend 200 a time to have their brakes replaced, even though pads have nothing to do with the ABS ECU.

Then he tries to tell me its going to be 45 dollars. This puts me over the edge. I ask what i am paying for, he says well since you have an exhaust its not covered under warranty and these guys dont work for free. I again say, the exhaust was on the car when you fixed the trans, now that trans, the one you fixed, is giving me problems, stop mentioning the exhaust, it has nothign to do with this situation. Also, subaru sent me the letter for the ABS, so that is free of charge, all you did was look at the pads, you didnt even have to put it on a lift for that. Then he comes out with the ultimate.... Well warranties dont transfer. I see you bought the car used, and even thought it says you have the 80k extended service you actually dont(even though i just used this warranty 3 weeks ago to have my power steering pump replaced), so you have to pay. I said i wouldnt pay at wich time he said i am 3 seconds from being asked to leave, i said fine, but im still not paying. he handed me my keys and said "your business is no longer welcome here"... I dont understand how car companies stay in business with this sort of customer service.

CLiff notes: service write tries many different ways to not have to fix problems caused by both his shop and subaru because of an unrelated exhaust. I call him out on it, he gets upset and tries to "prove me wrong with more lies" I again call him out on those new lies and then he proceeds to kick me out.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK COLONIAL SUBARU

I noticed a lot of dealerships are strange between braches. Some are awesome all around, others just suck a nut or two.

Yep. Bob Arnot. That asshole got SOA to deny my trans claim. That asshole costed me $5200. If I ever see him again, he's getting my fist in his mouth.

I agree. **** Colonial Subaru.

That's exactly true.

How good a dealer is to their customers depends entirely on the dealership. I've heard tons of horror stories from 3G guys about various dealerships across the country, where by contrast, the dealer near my house that I go to is GREAT!!!

After having my suspension replaced with KYBs and Eibach springs, I took the car in when I noticed a torn CV boot. They replaced the CV boot AND the axle, under warranty, even though they *could* have said the new suspension caused the issue.

They treat me nice and they treat me fairly every time I go in there. I wish all dealerships were like that. I'm scared about what I'll get stuck with when I move.

Yeah, i just get so angry. I understand that some people are push overs and have NO idea about cars, dealerships obviously take advantage of them to the fullest extent. But when you lie to a person, they call you out on it, and you try and back it up with more lies it just shows the lack of class the establishment as a whole has. I work in customer service, one of the first things i tell people when im training them is dont make **** up. The general customer may not know you are lying, but there will be ones who know and its just not worth it. I dont see how you can base your business off of this.

Chris, I am with you, if i see him again ill give him one for me and another for you.

If this one guy is screwing a bunch of you, I would suggest going to the regional manager.

Tell him what the guy is doing, and let him know if he doesn't make it right, you'll start an information campaign to let people know about the dealership practices (Think, bumper stickers and a website detailing all of the horror stories about this dealership on ALL of your friends cars).

Wow that sucks man. My Honda dealership is pretty cool about everything. They worked on everything for my car when I brought it in no problem.

Good luck in the future with these assholes!

Several people must really suck at Colonial Subaru. I had a problem with the sales manager, too.

I walked in with ripped jeans and he proceeds to tell me that I probably couldn't afford the cars I asked to test drive. Idiot! We got a Honda Pilot soon afterwards. And several months later a Saturn Ion. They lost!

And so what my jeans had holes in them... I'm a stay home dad and at the time I was always on my knees playing with the baby, lol.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!! that is friggin rediculous. I wouldve flipped them off and told them I was advising everyone against going there and would reconsider even getting a Subaru at all, then try to think of ways to get back at them

sorry to hear about that cause thats BS right there. My Saturn dealership didn't care what I did to my car. I brought it in for an oil change when I had it lowered and tinted and my airbox hacked up and they were like oh wow check this out. They liked it haha

My Mitsu dealer is the same way. Seems like whenever I go there, I have sales guys and mechanics all coming out to check out the car and ask questions about it, since it's the first blown 3G Eclipse they've seen at their shop.

I knew three or four guys that worked there the time I got my trans claim denied. It didn't matter. The Service manager went straight to SOA and convinced them not to cover my warranty repair.

Like I said, if I see him again, he's getting a knuckle sandwich.

This is ridiculous!!!!!! We need to get the world spread far a wide about colonial. Enough that they get wind of it! The subaru community is HUGE around these parts and we could probably make them lose some business!

Damn. The dealership I got the MP5 at actually recommended a few sites for parts and offered to do the installs.

Went to Colonial before we got the Maz, and the manager (the guy that does the commercials) tried his best to talk us into a car we had no interest in WHATSOEVER, damn near begged me to take a test drive (Ah, what'll it hurt if you're a half hour late for work?) and "forgot" to have my trade-in brought back to me after appraisal. Told the salesman, who was fairly new, that the idiot just cost him a sale, demanded my keys (loudly) and sent a vile-spewing e-mail.

Oh, and didn't return the x-mas card he sent.

Simply awful. Even the guys at NP Imports (VW) don't like dealing with them.
