What do I need to have "complete" gear

I'm trying to get a complete setup that will give me ideal shots in any situation, I think I got a lot covered

Current gear:
Nikon D70
Nikon Nikkormat 35mm SLR
Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D-IF AF
Nikkor 20mm 1:3.5
Nikkor 105mm 1:2.5
Nikkor 50mm 1:2
Nikkor 200mm 1:4
Gonna pick up Hoya UV and Polarizing filters for the 28-105mm and the 20mm

Yes, my lenses are old, but old Nikkor lenses were well ahead of their competitors back in the day with superior optics that are still good today. And I don't mind that they aren't AF.

It varies with every person. The only way to know is to get out and shoot, and find out where you're thin on equipment. Depends when, what, and how you shoot so the only way to find out is to go through the motions...

I think I am pretty well covered. Basically I just don't want to be in a situation where I am spreading myself thin

long zoom, flash, tripod... those are the most standard things that i dont see listed. but you know better than we do if you 'need' them.

Yeah, I have a tripod. The D70 has pop up flash, and I am so used to the Nikkormat and not having flash that I never really get into flash too much so I havent even looked at flashes at all. I would like to get a silly wide angle lens though. I have never needed anything wider than the 20mm, but something super wide would be fun. Any suggestions?

The pop up flash is pretty much useless... the only time I've ever used mine was when my cat started doing something really crazy and I needed to quickly take pics because I didn't have time to put the nice flash on. I have an SB800 and love it... I've talked to a lot of people that say the SB600's die a lot... the SB400 is a cute little flash, but doesn't clear a lens hood and has limited angle abilities.

Other than that... a tripod is always good to have around, like Bryan suggested. Then it's just a matter of what you feel you need. Everyone does things differently... like me, I have a single lens and wouldn't trade it for anything. I hate changing lenses and lugging them around. Other people like have 10 different ones to use. Different strokes for different folks.

Considering photography is about nothing but light, you may want to look into flashes or other lighting equipment.

I have never been able to use flash to my advantage. I always find myself leaning more towards natural light and longer exposures which isn't hard to achieve since I am rarely indoors. Hmmm... now that I think of it, a flash might be useful for when I am at the BMW factory

A nice flash is VERY nice to have (wow, that sentence sounds stupid...). I love my SB800. Since you're a Nikon guy, that's the flash I'd recommend you. SB600s seem to have problems, and SB400 has limited use really.

An SB800 is almost as much as I paid for my D70 body. LOL

Maybe later I'll throw together a quick test/example of why a flash is so useful.. though I'm sure it's been done before me so maybe a search would be easier

i have a sb600 and an 800. used the 600 a lot more than i have the 800 right now. its lasted at least 3k shots so far. since you have a d70, you can use the on board flash as a controller and use a sb600 off camera.

SB600 is a great flash Get a cheap tripod from best buz unless zou plan on using it in windz situations or what not. I would get a nice wide angle lens. I've heard some good things about the Sigma 10-20 which is 500 or so dollars as compared to the Nikkor 12-24 which is 900 or so.

Sigma...
http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-10-20mm-.../dp/B0007U00XK

sorrz about the z's and stuff, I'm in Bulgaria and Hungarz right now, so everz place zou see a "z" pretend its a "y" its all ass backwards.

yo man, def look into the sigma 10-20. i found mine used on nikonians for around 400$. It takes great photos. the only thing you have to look out for is vignetting at the wide end, but nothing that cant be easily corrected in photoshop or aperture. Also, lots of people complain about distortion at the wide end, again something that can be corrected, but there is no perfect lens. i took it to NZ and almost shot entirely with it. Heres some examples:
