transmission help! please!

please give advice! sorry for the long story

i have an automatic 2001 Honda Civic EX...

basically to make a long story short, after hearing a clickclickclickclick noise the other day my check engine light popped on and my drive symbol on my dash started blinking. additionally, i found my reverse lights were on when driving forward. as it turns out, when i had my new trans put on a year ago, the wiring and connectors were not harnessed correctly which caused them to fall and get caught in my axle which stripped them of their coating and entangled them which tricked my car into not knowing what gear it was in. we turned the car off but it wouldn't turn back on because it didn't know what gear it was in. my friend said it looked like my trans was put in with a lot of negligence considering the other nuts and bolts he sucked out of the engine bay of my car and put back into place. but he temporarily fixed it by separating the wires and putting electrical tape around them and then ziptying the connecters and wiring back up.

i work in an auto shop and brought it in today for repairs but i'm waiting on parts to come in tomorrow (4 connecters and wiring). the issue is that the mechanic there said i have to stop beating on my car so much because i've basically blown my trans mount and i'm going to need a new one soon. but i just had an entirely new transmission put in one year ago.

the advice i really need and question i have (because i don't know much about this) is whether it is possible that i could have beaten on my automatic car so hard that I could have blown a trans mount in a year, or if the trans mount sucks because the shop that put my trans in a year ago did a bad job, considering the rest of my trans doesn't seem to be in good shape. I'm not entirely hard on my car. I do occasionally floor it, but nothing like what i've seen some of my friends do, especially when racing. I obviously don't race it or anything (i mean, it's a stock, automatic honda...it's my daily driver!) so i wanted to know if this could be my fault or the shops. I don't need a trans mount now, but the mechanic said soon, and I don't think I can totally afford one.

is this a normal problem in cars, or in hondas?

sorry this is so long. thanks in advance for any advice!

as I said on the phone to jen. I figure that if there were some smarts in the bunch when they took it in to get the new trans before she bought it.... then they would have done trans mount(s) at the same time. Otherwise, they put in a new trans on old mount(s) and now the old mounts are showing their age. Not really a huge deal because it's an easy fix.... I dunno.

Trans mount is an easy fix, especially in these cars. No big deal, they go all the time. You can try some window weld for a really really cheap fix and it should work ok, but it might make the car vibrate a little bit.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

front mount in 01-03 civics go all the time. i had my civic for 2 years and replaced 4 mounts. i did beat the **** out of it though. and the 01 autos had a lot of trans problems so its not uncommon that the trans would have been replaced.
