Anyone know any good sites to download music that doesn't cost money,like winmx or something..??

I use ares also. Haven't had any problems with it so far. Sometimes the quality ain't that great but then you just find another user with that song and try again.

I use Bearshare for some time now. Downloaded about 1800 songs off of it so far. No problems. Might try Ares one day. Limewire gave me problems when I had it.

I use SoulSeek. Its great because you can download whole albums at once.

its weird that each program functions so differently for many people since they all connect to the same networks.

also highly popular for RIAA.

IRC is my preferred choice on closed servers.

are all these programs Spyware free.. I know ares isnt...i have seen it destroy people's cpus.. I have been using iTunes to stay away from spyware and virus problems..

some are, some arent. some spyware companies make fake websites claiming to host the program and you end up with crap. but they all connect to the same 2-3 networks, i can't understand why they are so different. The coding scheme and protocols are pretty much all the same as well.

Oh well bearshare and limewire didn't work for me,they were way to slow but i'm also still on dial up, no modem or dsl..
