FINALLY dynoed the hatchback.

It's been a long time coming, but I'm super happy with how everything turned out.

I'm going to do cap/rotors/plug wires because the car is still on it's ORIGINAL ignition components and I was having some sporatic minor breakup issues at the top of the powerband. Like all things in this car, I'll eventually work it out.

Basic setup is as follows.

D16Z6 single cam VTEC engine
Eagle rods
Cast Vitara pistons
new OEM rod/main bearings
Zex 59300 Cam/Zex Valve springs

T3/T4 57trim .63AR
CCfab ramhorn manifold
Tial 38mm wastegate with Forge MBC
Full 3" catback with magnaflow muffler (3" in/out)
Hondata S300, car is tuned by me

And of course, video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nl2y1bN1qOg

Thanks again to Vince@RTtuning for helping me out with the finer points of tuning the car.

Now... if only this wet weather would go away!

Cool beans. How many psi was that on(excuse if it was explained in the vid, my comp is super slow- yup 18 got it)? A bit fat, but I guess you would prefer it that way. Awesome for a single cam regardless.

Looks like you could clean up the AFR's a bit but thats great power for a hatch..Being as though I am am anti-honda I will say that it makes some good power...BUT <200ft/lbs before 5000 rpm is crazy and you dont hit 300hp until after 6500! All good if it is for a race/ weekend car (which I'm sure it is) but theres got to be a better turbo for that power level..Turn up the boost mabye? Was it at ~18psi?
Nevermind just read it was a 1.6
good ****!!!

You'd really have to "experience" the car to understand how it feels. I regeared the transmission and all that fun stuff just to compliment the high spool. So, once I'm on it the car never really goes under ~6200. I do rev the car out to 8300 as well so that's another 500rpms of 300+ power. It peaks at 7600 though, so I didn't go past it every time for the engines sake. Driving around town it really won't go into boost, so it gets 30+mpg to boot.

Also, I set two goals for this build waaaaay back when my dad and I first put together everything. About a year ago now I'd say, this engine was built with the full intention of 300+whp pump gas, and 400whp+ race gas. (Granted, we never actually thought it would lol) So, I've got the pump gas goal, now it's time to chase after the race gas goal. Want to get some track passes with the way it is now first though, then hopefully by next spring we'll have more E85 around here and I can just use that instead of $10 a gallon C10. Oh and uh, when's the next time you're taking the Evo to the track.

Pancoast, no sorry bud I don't know what the car weighs. If I had to guestimate, probably 2500ish with me in it? Still full interior blah blah blah... I'm trying to hold off as long as I can to strip and cage it, lol.

Jimmy, nope, no more creep. Don't know how I fixed it, I went back to the Tial and used an MBC instead of the EBC and now I have controllable boost. Not the steadiest boost, but controllable is good enough for me right now.

Thanks for the comments guys, it's super appreciated. Next thing to do is strap on the DRs and see if I can cut a mid 12.

really nice power... i'm sure that thing really moves out.
the hp and torque curves look pretty smooth, but i think you could still improve upon your boost and AFR. i think the boost shouldnt be too difficult to flatten out should it? i dont know, you said you're on a MBC so i dont understand the fluctuation there.
i'm also not sure what kind of fuel control you have but if you can log a wideband then maybe you can smooth that out a bit as well.
looks good though... nice build.

good job man! glad to see you finally got some exact numbers on this setup. I also love seeing how much closer the tq numbers are to HP rather then what this could look like on a bseries with 300whp ha ha

Awesome number, but that A/F ratio can definitely be cleaned up a little. Looks pretty rich, but at least you're high RPM levels are fairly stable. Still some ballin' numbers.
