OOOH! thats illlegal!!! ZOMG! technically you aren't allowed to have tint on the front windows... :D but thats BS. I just had a court case dismissed (in Narberth, of all places) after arguing back and forth with the cop for 45 mins.

Tell them to SHOW you the law in writing where it says you can't have tint on the front windows, and if they mention the so-called "30% rule" tell them to show you that in writing too....cuz it aint there.

The cop actually told me it was legit if it comes tinted from the factory...but not so if its done aftermarket. Now what kind of BS is that??? :D

Tint not only improves the look of your car, it helps to prevent your interior from fading, helps to keep in-car temps down during the summer, so you can keep the a/c off and save MPGs, and its a BIG deterrent in breaking into cars...and it helps disguise the $1000 worth of car stereo equipment i have in the car.

btw, car looks good OP!

^^ i disagree on the deterrent part..lol i know at least one person that had his car broken into likely BECAUSE of his tint. He had a honda with 5% tint and not a single piece of aftermarket performance or audio on his car. The perp probably assumed he had a headunit or some goodies inside with that dark ass tint. Turned out he had absolutely nothing, so they got nothing and he was out a window. lol

funny thing is tint on a sedan or coupe is illegal on ANY window according to pennsylvannia law. the windows have to allow 70% tint through, which is almost what the factory is(you will never find a sedan or coupe with factory tint, only SUV's, mini vans, wagons, trucks and crossovers)most cops know that the law is bogus(especially since you cant fail inspection)...

exception to the rule imo. 1 person does not discredit that statement. Plus, you are just speculating it was BECAUSE of the tint... could have just been because it was a HONDA... like in most cases.

Was the car stick? Its possible once they realized that they couldn't drive it away, they just split.

anyway, i've known of window tint actually holding together a shattered/broken window, so it actually can make it harder to actually break into the car in the 1st place as well.

yeah, the cops don't even understand the 70%/30% rule, in fact, they aren't too clear on the law at all. So they just give out tickets, and wait to see if you fight it or not.

U Shoulda seen the look on the cops face when he told me my tint was illegal and I wouldn't pass inspection. I told him it passed 3 times without ANYone ever saying anything.

In fact, i'd been pulled over/ticketed for speeding before in various jurisdictions.... and at least 3 of those cops didn't even mention my tint.

its totally ARBITRARY. Every jurisdiction treats it differently.

For example, sadly, if you are african-american, and driving a tinted car down west chester pike in havertown, you WILL get a ticket. yeah, thats a fair law. :D
