Anyone ever done a fully "custom" exhaust on an s13?

Anyone ever done their own full exhaust? I'm talking from the header back? I'm thinking about doing a header back exhaust on an s13 and wanted to get some opinions? I was going to order up 2 4' straight sections of 3" and 2 3" 180* bends, along with a 3" y pipe and a possibly a muffler? And then just kinda.....goin at it. See how far back I can go with a straight section and then just chop up the 180's when I need a bend. This would be my first big exhaust/welding job, so I just wanted to get opinions. I figure if I do it this way, I can have a full 3" exhaust for $200 or less, which most of the time is less then even a cat back. Something like this:

Anybody?

I had to hack the exhaust I have for my miata, weld some tubeing and do some slight bending with a torch. As long as your ok at welding, go for it! It is very cheap and not too hard.

welding..ehhh...we'll see. I'm not that great, but I'm getting better. Long story short, I'll need exhaust on this thing asap, and I dont have the money to spend on a cat back, plus adding a mid pipe. I'm also thinking of welding a flange on the header so that if/when I do want to change it up I dont have to cut the header. If anyone talks to any of the dnasty guys or whatever, have them check this thread out.

I just have a harbor freight 110 mig. I still need to get some gas for it though. You guys think 2 4 foot straights and 2 180*'s will be enough to get all the bends and stuff I'll need? I can't remember what s13 exhaust looks like haha

Take a look at the RS*R exhaust for the 240, supposedly it has the fewest bends of any other exhaust....

that being said, I believe you will need more bends then what you've described

looking at some s13 exhaust online, theres only like 2 bends in it. I dont think it would be that hard to make. I guess we'll see?

looks like you miiiiight, be able to get away with one 180 degree pipe

i say go for it, if you have time and resources.

I wish i could have done mine.

And a muffler is a must. stock NA KA's are loud! If it was turbo'd you could probably get away with just straight pipe.

I don't understand any of that. I took french in high school.

Are you asking me where the 180 degree bend is, in the picture?

If so, it looks like there is a 70, 20, 45, and 30 degree bend.
70+20+45+30= 165 degrees. But i didn't use a protractor, so who knows?

I thought u were sayin that u'd need a 180 degree pipe, as in a u-shaped pipe. Nvrmind.
