Me and this guy are trading cars, so were meeting at the notary. heres the catch, my dad is co signed on my car [grr], so does my dad have to come with then in order for it to go thru? Im confused weather he has to come with or not.

I'll give some insight since I am a Notary myself

Anybody that is signing anything that needs to be notarized must appear before a Notary. If your Dad's name is listed on the title he must appear before the Notary.

yeah, but you can get him to go to the notary at his convenience and get a power of attorney form that gives you the power to sign the title over (once the form is completed and sent in of course), and then he doesn't need to be there.

sooo if the person on the title has to be there... what if u buy a car out of state... the car is shipped to you and all you have is the title with his signature signing it over to you ???
