Fresh meat from Lancaster County, PA

Hey everybody, I decided to google for car groups in my area and came across you guys. I figured I'd register up (after looking around a bit) and now i'm doing the general forum tell-you-about-myself bit that always seems to go along with that.

Anyway, name's Tim. I'm 23 and I live in Columbia, PA (well, technically right outside of Columbia). I have a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. I currently work at a Cajun restaurant in the kitchen (because when I think Cajun, oh yeah, I think Pennsylvania). I also co-own an internet-based business (as it's my first day here, I'll keep the address to myself unless someone wants it) doing custom t-shirts and vinyl decals.

I'm registered on about a million other forums (mostly automotive based) so I'll try to keep stupid questions to a minimum. In short, I've got a pretty good idea of how a forum works and I'll try not to be an annoyance.

I currently own 2 cars and 1 motorcycle, although at the exact second, only one of said vehicles is on the road.

My daily driver is a 1995 Eagle Talon ESi (for those of you who don't know, that's the boring non-turbo FWD version) 5-Spd MTX. No modifications worth mentioning yet, except for some vinyl because, hey, I have access to the tools.

My sunday driver is a 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. 1600cc Single Port rear-mounted aircooled engine. 4-spd MTX. full (amateur) restoration, debadged, shaved bumpers, bright green paint, oversized oil sump, "stinger" header exhaust, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember at 2:30 in the morning. Currently off the road because it needs new brakes and a door hinge busted (lousy cheap aluminum replacements). I currently am rebuilding a 1600cc Dual Port from a 72 Super Beetle for it which will up the displacement to 1650cc... I also have a hot street cam, oil cooler, etc. for it, and I'm hoping to change it from single barrel carb to either a progressive 2-barrel or a dual carb setup.

the bike is a 1980 Honda CB750-F SuperSport. It's a little rough around the edges but looks pretty good for a bike of its age (especially one that spent several years before my ownership sitting in a barn). It's got a Shoei fairing on it and is otherwise stock. Currently also off the road because it won't run (it doesn't seem to have compression... I'm sending it to a shop in the next couple weeks). Since it hadn't been touched in several years when I got it, it didn't run then, so I took it to a shop, had it fixed, ran it for a few months, and then it crapped out again... it's been in my uncle's garage since.

I'll post pics of all of it in the gallery section of the forums. In the meantime, I'll be seeing you all around.

Welcome to TST. Definitely get some pics up. From your avatar, the vdub looks pretty cool.
