Formula D Pictures 6/14/08

im not sure how many people went to formula d who were not a part of the media group (brian andrew troll barry spock etc)
i know there will be a write with photo's posted within the next few days but i guess this is where u can post your own pics

i took over 700 so its kind of early to go through all of them now

i decided to pic a few that i kind of liked
com's & crit's would be greatly appreciated. a few of them arent perfect but i picked them due to the composition of the photo

Nice pics. I was there Friday and Saturday doing video. We weren't allowed to film the main event so I didn't get to see any of it. But the practices were fun and I got to ride with Samuel Hubinette in the Viper...Troll and Barry got rides too...it was great.

Most of the panning shots you posted aren't 100% in focus, a limitation with the AF system on your body (not reacting fast enough). You also have dust on the sensor so you'll probably want to clone those out of the images and clean the sensor.

I probably took 700-800 photos. It was a good time I must say, though I am slightly redder then I as the day before.

I'll have more photos up, but here is a quick one.

yeah i noticed that once i enlarged them today, and compared them to the others ppl have posted. i should invest in a monopod or that cheap monopod w/ the washer, string and bolt. its not the side to side motion that is killing my its up and down movements. thanks for the tips though!

not bad for my first drift event with my camera
is there anything color balance wise that i can improve on? i know a few are bad but i included them anyways

here are some more

fail

i am mad that this is not in focus.

Something I noticed looking at a couple EXIF data off of a few photos is that your shooting in Aperture mode for the action photos. I'm not sure what others shoot in but I shot all the action shots in Shutter mode so I can shoot fast enough and get a good blur in the wheels and background to make it seems like it is moving. See above photo I posted.

What the heck here is another for now.

I was a waste of a media pass, but I did get some I liked. I tried panning and I'm really picky about them, so I have like a 10% keeper rate.

When I got home I was miserable, having to wear pants and sweat my ass off in the heat all day, but now that I think about it, it was an awesome time.

I'll add anymore I really like as I go through them.

I used a Canon 28-135mm IS, its pretty good for a walkaround, and my miniscule budget haha.
