HAHA it doesn't really matter to me. I don't think my year can get any worse for my race car. I am back on my bone stock motor, on my third inj driver box, new tranny after last weeks problem. Plus it might as well break there then at the track after spending over 300 bucks in gas to drive there.

I would go, but my mom is driving 4 hours to come down and visit me. I am getting my exhaust manifold this weekend so my car will be ready to go for the next one.

Well just got back from Maple Grove and things still haven't changed. The tech guy was still an asshole, tried to tell me that my firesuit was not really a 5 layer and that it was labeled wrong. This is the sponsorship firesuit that was custom made from Pyrotect. Then the tech guy procedded to tell me that my seat belt mounts were incorrect and that if I would run a "real" event such as NHRA it would never pass. Funny I been running NHRA events for 4 years now. Then he tells me that I will be running in the "Hot" lane and I will get 3 passes. WTF is the point of going to a test and tune if you can only get 3 passes? I asked him why. He said your car is a race car. I said so is every other car here that is why we are here to race. Then he tells me the car is not street legal. I said it is inspected and emmissioned, registered and insured so how is it not street legal. He says it has slicks. I am like you have to be kidding me. So I get stuck in this Hot lane.
Brian had a little more luck he was in the regular test and tune lane and got 12 runs or something nuts like that.

It doesn't make any sense. Everyone pays the same amount why can't we get more then 3 or in tonights case 4 runs in? I got there right when the gates opened at 4 and had to sit till 6 to get my first run while all the other Non-hot class cars could just go around and around.

What a waste of gas money and my time. To maple grove. Maybe one day they will get thier act together, and also hire some staff that aren't assholes.

Don't start bitching at the people at the Grove. I race their religously on their bracket days and they really aren't a bad group of people. I will admit though, they aren't the biggest fans of imports. We are used to american cars that run quicker than most of the imports haha.
Sorry it didn't go well Chad.

Why shouldn't I bitch at the people at the grove. They are running a business and offering a service as a place for me to come run my car. My money is just as green as any of the domestics money. It should not be called a test and tune if you are not allowed to hot lap and only allowed to run at 6,7 and 8 P.M. that is just like running an event. What good do I get out of it only getting three runs?

I know they are not a big fan of import racers, they never have been. That is why NOPI and IDRC pulled them from their venue and don't hold events there anymore.

I will admit there was a bunch of ricers there with slow ass imports. But when you can cleary see that the car is not some hunk of **** thrown together give a little respect. Bottom line the tech guy was an asshole and just trying to find anything wrong with my car and saftey equipment. I have been running NHRA events for 4 years now and never once had an issue passing tech. **** I have more safety equipment on my car then 99% of the cars racing there that night. I did not see one person with a hans device, fire supression system and so on. I know the rules, my car is built around the rules to a T so for him to be an asshole was just uncalled for.

Its ashame that we have such a nice close track but I will never go race there b/c of how they treated myself and dave.

As far as the fast comment hardly saw any fast domestics there that night. About 4 of them that was actually faster then my little four cylinder.

Haha go on a weekly bracket event and you'll see plenty of fast domestics. You are right they treated you like crap. I believe for the reason they put you in that lane is because the race cars there trying to get some good runs in are getting a little track prep for their run and they put you in that lane for the reason. Sorry you went through all of that, and it is a very nice place.

Actually I wouldn't say that if I were you. If you have known the past and what goes on at the track it has been turning around majorly in a good way. It caters more to the weekly bracket racers and other events that bring in big crowds. Friday nights they could care less about. It is just more money to them. So all in all it really doesn't suck.

Maple Grove is becoming a piece of work. I remember going there back in highschool and being able to get more runs in than my car could handle. Now a days I go watch people sit in the lanes for 2-3 hours between runs and get 3-4 runs in from the time the gates open till they close the lanes. That's bull**** and everyone knows it. If you're gonna offer a "Grudge Night" for locals to come to the track with their cars and keep them off the streets then don't waste our f*cking time with JR Dragsters & Bracket racers. They have their own nights throughout the month where no one else is allowed to run...So why allow them to run when the regular Joe Schmo comes out in his car on the only night you'll allow him to be there? I live 20mins from Maple Grove and I refuse to run there anymore since they booted me with my Srt-4 for going 11.6 without a cage?!? Last I checked I had to be alot faster than that to need a cage. I'd rather take the hour some odd drive to Cecil CO. or Island or Atco and deal with a lil less track prep than Maple Grove and their insane rules and regulations.

Reason the bracket racers and jr dragsters go there on a friday night is so that we can tune our cars and find our spot on the tree if we are struggling. We put a lot of time and effort into our cars as well and need the practice when trying something new. You need a rollbar if you are running 11.49 or faster, so why they kicked you out I don't know why. You must obviously not know how a track is run either. There is a lot more into it, like expenses that they have to pay as well. You can also race your stuff on a bracket day, just wouldn't recomend it especially if it's stick.

Yeah well charging people $25-30 to sit in the lanes for 5-6 hours only to get 3 runs in is bull****. On top of charging everyone else $10 to spectate. They make their money back and then some. Hell the shows they hold pay for much more than just the day of the show and everyone knows it. You can get butthurt all you want about people saying your beloved Grove sucks donkey d*ck but the truth be told that track is going down hill. I have a friend that runs his car there all season long in brackets and other events as well and he's said the past 2 years track prep is getting worse and worse. I'd be downright pissed if I was him considering he's running a sub 8 second car should he have something happen due to a poorly prepped track.
