The "Evil" Celica (zzt231)

April 14th 2007
I picked up my second car ever, a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS 6Spd.

Paid $7,500 for it with about 93,000 miles on the odometer.

Bone Stock and unmolested the car was ready for me get creative.

First order of business was get rid of the huge RC car like antenna.

Then I purchased a set of D2 RS Coilovers.
May 5, 2007

I took the optima red top from my previous Celica and threw it on my new "evil" Celica.

- I noticed some condensation in my headlights so I ordered some black housing headlights.

That light output sucked so I replaced them with OEM headlights I got in a trade and painted. 3000k HID fogs and 6000k HID low beams were soon after installed.

?-??-07
i picked up a set of OEM 03 celica tail lights from a nc.org member for 100 dollars.

this is what the stock 00 tails where like.

June 6, 2007
I bought my first ever TRD part, an oil filter.
Also carbon fiber door inserts from Top Shop came in.

That same summer I went ahead and ordered a very essential intake along with a Rhys Millen Motorsports heatshield and NRG ground wire kit to keep me busy while on vacation.

Later down I bought a dremel and polished my heat shield to a mirror finish

My car and my friend Sergeys celica.
my first celica friend lol.

7-2

I suspected a sound coming from my car to be a throw out bearing so I went ahead and ordered a new clutch from south bend clutch. its a stage 2 tz series with a full kevlar disc.
some time after that i ordered a fidanza light weight flywheel and trd helical LSD.

some time after
i painted the inserts of my headlights with night shades VHT to imitate the Japaneses version of them.

9-1-07
I added a KC Hilites rear fog light. I think it gives it a JDM appeal and sets it apart from other Celicas.

9-16-07

9-29-07
my interior as 9-29, completly stock other than door inserts and shifter.

and my engine bay with my new optima blue top, i got it because i wanted everything to match.

10-1-07
I installed key hole covers to give the car a cleaner, uninterrupted look.

10-8-07
I managed to source a very rare TRD exhaust, I picked it up somewhere 150 miles away from NY in PA.

its the only cat back made for the 7th gen Celica, and it is not street legal. Dont tell anyone.

here is a video of it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEQ3HkYTyVM

11-9-08
my birthday, my buddy sergey got me some sony xplod speakers

?-??-08

I wanted to maximize my cars JDM appeal so I decided to by a set of Toyota JDM window visors, after some searching I found someone selling AVS brand vent visors for a fraction of the price so I went ahead and bought them. I wet sanded them and polished them with some scratch x and on to the car they went.

My stock headunits cd player never worked so I sourced the JBL head unit from an 03+ celica.
it had amber lights so i made parts of my interior match. Sadly the CD player on this unit didnt work either so i returned it.

?-??-08

3-??-08

I purchased my first high end Radar Detector.
Beltronics RX65 Pro Series

3-16-08
My first "JDM" part, lol not that it matters much to me. I do think they are sexy, JDM supra and celica corner lights.

3-26-08

time for a new head unit. i was tired of listening to radio and the MP3 player i used to connect to my cassette player shat the bed so i got myself a JVC KW AVX DVD head unit.

4-??-08

My valve cover had some kind of mildew or mold when I bought the car and ever since I noticed it i have been playing with the idea of powder coating some pieces. finally after going crazy trying to figure what color to go with i gave tom from www.trgcoating.com a call and we worked something out.

here is the result

i also painted my optima black, and removed some engine plastics to paint them gloss black. they havent gone back on yet and i dont think they will anytime soon. i also hand polished the intake runners.

4-19-08 - IMPULSE BUY
got this pretty rare CF sparkplug cover, at 80 dollars it was a steal.

5-??-08

i got some paint primer and clear. toyota black metallic 210 to match my car, i used it to paint my center console.

5-??-08

time for some more performance oriented mods.
so... Energy Suspension Poly Urethane Motor mount inserts.

5-10-08
picked up a used seibon OEM style cf hood for 300 clams
ouch
but whatever

mr. sergey helping me install my new hood.

the celicas first wax

the celica as of 5-11-08

6-8-08
tomorrow
i will be dropping off my car at JD Motorsports. Joe will installing my new goodies

after one year of stock piling parts they will finally be going in
im excited to see what the outcome will be once they are installed

================================================== ====

a few things have changed since my last up date, ill try and post this in order how i remember it.

First week of my new job i decided to go to burger king and this happend...

It will take alot more than that for me to give up on this celica. I was 100 percent not at fault and the other parties insurance company covered all the repairs plus my rental car.

This is the car a few days after i got it back from the shop. I missed it terribly.

of course i already had some parts to welcome it back.
SPC adjustable rear upper control arms. I painted them purple myself with some sparkly anodized type paint forgot the name.

Picked up a WW TRD replica front lip.

I finally got tired of the wack KC Hi Lites rear fog so i sourced the real thing from the UK.

I cut the holes myself and also painted the bezels to get them to match the rear bumper.

End result.

Just like the EUDM counterpart.

thanks, i try to stay away from the rice
its not my style. i didnt really notice much difference with that oil filter and since i live in NY in an apartment building its difficult for me to do oil changes on my own. Im gonna try a nice fram filter with some quality synthetic oil for my next oil change. this one i will do on my own. hopefully i will be able to do them from now on. im gonna try q horsepower. anyone have experience with it?

Dude, Fair warning. Don't go Fram. In the past they were the sh*t. But today they suck a**! I've cut oil filters apart to see the difference between them. Fram, Fram Tough Guard, Fram Race, Purolater, Pure one, Power Flor, Mobil 1, K&N AC Delco, Motocraft, and Mopar. I don't recomend any of the frams. They all suck. You can take the filters and crumble them with your hand and they fall apart. The exterior is very very weak and the normally fail after about 500 miles when it comes to synthetic. I've seen it happen to my buddies Talon. If you're looking for something good. Stick with Mobil 1 or go K&N with Pennzoil Platinum or the Castrol Syntec. Mopar filters rock too. Thats if you want to best protection and cleanest oil.
