08 wrx new cat-back

Got the exhaust finally set up. just 2.5" cat back for now to an HKS stainless muffler. Got it all flanged so it can be put back to stock without any problems.

YouTube - 08 Wrx 4dr Exhaust

Here's the Pic's... Honestly not 100% happy with the appearance. I would have liked the muffler to shoot up a little more then it does, but its not that big of a deal. The tone is excellent. I honestly was expecting it to be louder, but its really not horrible. Just the right grumble for now .. Next im doing some suspension stuff (sways, springs, strut bars) but after that im going stage II... Cant wait for that day

I did. Everything from 00-07 does it for me. The hoodscoops, the fenders that throwback to the old M3's (80's M3 *drool*) are my kind of thing. I know I don't have to see the outside of my car while I am driving it, but it deosn't mean I want a turbocharged Kia (not saying the 08 is, just an example). If I were out and in the market for a new car in 08 I would wait for a Ralliart Lancer. To put it bluntly why settle for an ugly but quick car when you don't have to.

Now to drag this back on topic. Since you have the only Impreza that could have a dual exhaust thrown on to it why did you go single?

Not like it was a "true" dual exhaust... Just one 2.25" pipe that split off at the rear to two 1.25" pipes that each had their own mufflers... It just made more sense to me to just use 2.5" pipe all the way back to a high flow muffler so thats what I went with. My dad works at a body shop so I'm having the other hole in the bumper filled in to make it look normal. I don't like the dual coffee can look anyway plus it was 1/2 the cost... Thats basically all the reasons I have for having it this way lol

Ok, I was just curious because I've seen some Legacy GT's with duals that don't look like coffee cans even a little that sound completely badass and look hot. So I was just thinking either price or nothing like that existed yet is all. I have the HKS carbon Ti so I have always been a little envious of the Leg GT guys getting a dual exhaust that didn't look like crap, like mine, but sounded just as good.

I had the SPT exhaust on order but it was on backorder until the end of august (quality control issue) ... So I just cancelled it and went with this setup. Bosal also had a kit out that looks factory but I didn't want to spend $1400 either... so I took the easy way out lol

Yeah there is no point in spending that much extra for a dual if it's not a huge increase in performance, which I am guessing it wouldn't be since it's just a branched pipe.

You do know a dual exhaust doesn't change the sound of the car right? Only going with EL headers will change that.
