comcast vs directtv

which do you prefer?

I had directtv in my last place and loved it. I currently have comcast in the place I'm renting a room from and I'm kinda "eh" about it...

I also have a 42" hdtv so i'd be going w/ hd programming as well. I know comcast says they have more channels... but both have the premium channels in HD which is all that really matter.

opinions?

i agree. Ive had both. direct tv is a little easier to use but the ondemand is a big thing for me. plus the price is pretty good because I have it wrapped up with my cable.

comcast's website sucks ass though...

directtv's website is very nice and easy to use and easy to pick stuff out.

Comcast's is shiiit (and I work on websites everyday that borderline crap...)

Using the phone to order sucks just as much...

I want the 12 month package of digital cable and internet for $66, and I want to add HDTV and Showtime... but I can't... I can add the HDTV... but not the showtime... wtf

the only place showtime is mentioned is in the hbo/showtime preffered package and that is 102/month

honestly... directTV may get my business simply due to the ease of use...

ondemand is very nice to have though

direct tv from what i remember has some sort of on demand with movies. i would rather have comcast just because i want to watch the flyers and phillies. otherwise i like both comcast and direct tv. right now i have dish network and it blows hard, im trying to convince my mom to go back to comcast or if not then back to direct tv.

comcast channel for flyers... grr... versus is on direct tv... had it when I had direct tv before.

ondemand isn't so much a big deal to me since I usually find something ****ty to watch on tv... though it'd be nice to have hd movies on demand... ugh...

I just really hate comcasts website... compared to direct tv's its so difficult to use...

direct tv w/ HD and hbo, starz, showtime is 44.98/month for 3 months before the premium channels go to full price.. and still cheaper than the 102 for hbo/showtime through comcast...

You checked Verizon's website to see if the address you're moving to qualifies for FiOS? Most of our area should definitely be covered.

i had 1 problem with directv. i canceled it back in december when my roommate moved in (he works for them so its free if its in his name). march 08 i get a bill from december 06 for 4 pay-per-view adult movies. movies that i couldnt have ordered because i never had a phone line in my apartment. i argued with them for almost an hour before i woke my roommate up and let him handle it. the customer service kinda sucks. no one speaks english. but in 2 years, i only had to call once. so i guess i cant really complain.

I checked and the answer was no. More than likely this is due to it being a large apartment building.

i never had issues w/ direct tv.

I'm probably going to give in and call comcast tomorrow after work (I'm leaving at noon) and trying to talk to someone on the phone... or look up a comcast office nearby and go in.
