US airways

besides the fact every flight is late and it takes 45mins to get my bags in philly- tonight is "james not amused" night
flight to leave at 6pm.
delayed to 8:30pm
get on plane- they can't fix the ****ing phone system so we DEPLANE -9:30PM
4 drinks later and a promise a plane would come at 11:00pm, it's 11:45pm and I want to rip off the limbs of the us airways people and beat them senseless.

i do not like us airways. last week i flew on them to california and back...

first went from newark to phoenix. we were 20 minutes early into phoenix, so we had no gate. so we had to wait, which made us actually late arriving. i had a connection to make in like 20 minutes, so we hauled ass through the airport, knocking people over... just to arrive at our next gate to find out there was no airplane yet. so the flight from phoenix to san jose was delayed 30 minutes because there was no plane.

the flight attendents on the first flight were complete bitches and were yelling at people to close the window shades. i dunno about other people, but i get a window seat so i can look out, not to sit there with the shade close. they said it was so people could watch the in flight movie. **** them, i paid for my ticket, and if wanna have my window open, i will do so! the whole flight they stood around bitching about their jobs. not very professional if you ask me.

let's see... on the way back we flew san jose to vegas. at the san jose gate, they tried convincing me my roller carry on would get permanently stuck in the overhead compartment. i told them i'd fly another airline if i had to check my bag and i just kinda walked through the gate regardless of them yelling at me. no, the bag did NOT get stuck. flying vegas to newark wasn't bad... no complaints there.

but yeah, i won't be flying us airways again. their professional, or lack thereof, sucks and the phoenix airport is the worse i've ever dealt with. usually we fly continental, but we booked our cali trip last minute so there were no cheap flights left from them. next time i'll pay the extra not to have to deal with bull crap.

Unfortunately, they're the only airline that flies direct from Philly to KC, so I've been stuck with them for almost the last two years. The only thing that makes it bearable is that I've got gold preferred status, so I get to cut in front of everyone at the ticket counter and the security line, plus I get unlimited free upgrades to first class. Now, if only I EVER flew on a damn plane that wasn't an Embraer or Canadair regional jet and actually HAD a first class...

I think most of USAir's problems stem from the fact that one of their major hubs is Philadelphia...PHL is an absolutely horrendous airport and has all kinds of problems on the ground. I really do like their rewards program though, and the whole Star Alliance means I actually have lots of airlines to choose from.

The best crews I've ever flown with are always on Southwest. I can't stand their boarding procedure, but if you can get past that I've always had great service.

Then there's Midwest Airlines, which gives you chocolate chip cookies freshly baked on board...how can you beat that!

Southwest.

45 min flight to Las Vegas from LAX at 4pm.

At 10pm, I am still sitting in LAX waiting for my flight while 14 other flights to Las Vegas on Southwest have departed.

Southwest can eat my left one.

I fly Southwest.

Advice to those who fly southwest...spend the extra $10 and get the Business Select seats. You board the plane first, which means you can get on and off the plane before anyone (depending on your seat selection). The last 3 times I have done this, I was within the first 3 to board the plane...clutch.

You also get a free drink (read:booze).

I like Continental. You get a little sandwich, too, which is better than the pretzels you get on most other flights.

i road...or flew...southwest from Philly to salt lake city, then salt lake city to hawaii. I really liked it. not one delay, flying was smooth and most of the attendants where even hot! except for one. she was SnaggleTooths albino child. Id recommend southwest from my experiences.

I think I might hate Delta just slightly less than I hate US Airways...
