08 wrx vs 08 speed3 vs 08 c30

alright lately i've been getting sort of tired with the integra, love the car, love how it feels, however as great as it is im lookin to get a car with a good amount of hp that i don't have to do head swaps and **** to achieve, also something alittle safer and comfy wouldn't be too bad either, so this is quite up in the air but im lookin into the new wrx, mazda speed3, and the volvo c30...i test drove the wrx yesterday, loved it, awesome car, handling was beautiful, however it was sort of pricey, and im gonna try to test the speed 3 and c30 within the next few days, so im seeing what everyone else thinks, thanks guys

I'm a big fan of the mazdaspeed3 but i still haven't driven one. If i was in the market for a new car i would definitely be buying of of those. Go drive the others and let us know what you think. Curious how much the were asking for the wrx?

well the one i test drove was like 25,300 something, and thats with none of the extras, in my opinion its too expensive for what you get, but it is awd so...with all the extras it can easily clear 30k

i noticed you said safety. the wrx is probably your best bet then (followed by volvo/mazda). a simple stage 2 would get you kickin in the wrx.

i would go without a doubt saying the wrx is the least comfy of the 3 (i own a TR so the seats aren't great)

i drove the speed 3 as well and it was fun, and the main reason i DIDNT get it was because it had FWD.

the simple aftermarket support for the wrx is great, and the stage 2 alone will make the car a blast to drive. if you're ever in the area/at a meet i'd take you for a spin.

the new volvos dope, never drove one though.

Speed3. It's cheaper, faster, and has a nicer interior.

I have a speed3 and I absolutely love it.

yeah its FWD...whatever it snowed like 1 time this year.

I would not get an 08 WRX over an MS3, 04-07 STi I would. Subaru actually suspended the sales of 08 WRX/STi because they were having problems with them knocking from the factory--no thanks.

my ms3 put down 270hp with 2 mods and no tuning. When tuning comes out it will be a whole new ballgame for the MS3. Cobb is supposed to have an AP early 2nd quarter.

I wouldn't mess with a volvo unless you like fabricating your own mods.

im new to awd, so i enjoy doing donuts in the grass from time to time

the ms3 and wrx are a tough choice, i was in the same boat as you were. i wouldnt get a 08 wrx either, so, in your position, id get the mazda.

very tuff choices, but after u drive all three back to back, u will know which one u want. it comes down to personality. imo if u find the wrx expensive then dont get the c30. while i love the c30, i wouldnt like to mod one or maintain one. its gonna be priceir than the other 2 u consider.

the wrx has obvious advantages like awd and fatermarket support, but like u said, 25k is starting bids for thos suckers. and besides, it snowed once this year....

the mazdaspeed3 is quite the underdog in the tuning world, that engine was built with plenty of, lets say, room to advance, heh heh. while it may not seem all that fast while rowing thru the gears, take close look at the speedo as u run thru third and fourth gear, its mighty quick. and once the PCM (or ECU to u subie nerds) gets cracked open and real tuning begins, prepare for serious HP.

imo drive all three, then come back and tell me u want the speed3.
22k, 290hp....any more questions?

not at all, i would just suggest waiting until he can actually afford it, rather than be "that guy" that makes the "what should i buy next?" threads and just ends up keeping the same car. and i do not think that polling tst is going to change his decision.

this whole forum is for the car enthusiasts, you should know this most of all because you brought me clay and nick on here, this thread was made so that i could ask others what they thought, and look what happened, people became interested and stated their opinions, it stimulated a debate between3 different cars of the same price, same type, and almost same look. So goose you can classify me as "that guy" but if i plan on getting a new car, whether it be in a month or a year, i want to know exactly what im getting into, i want the car to be the one im sure i want cause im going to have it for a long time and thats why i ask the good people of tst, like i said "its up in the air" why it annoys you so much that people make these posts ill never know, maybe im just looking for some information

it doesnt hurt to at least get the opinions of people who actually own the cars above, or have driven them. I have not driven any of the three, however i will be going with matt today to test drive the C30.

Im not looking to buy a car anytime soon, but im glad i test drove the G8 on wednesday.
