I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get my video footage from years ago onto my computers its a mini tape video camera. When i first got it an went to atco someone barrowed it once an put up there runs but idk how they did it was just the tape. Maybe theres something i can buy to transfer idk any info would be helpful i wanna put a bunch of Atco stuff from my old car an my brothers onto the internet but go no clue how to go about it.

if its got a TV hook up like most video cameras have you should be able to connect it to a computer with a video/audio input.

If its a few years old it should have RCA connections. You'll need those cables and a computer with RCA input and some kind of software to capture the video. Normally if a computer has those inputs it'll come with something to capture the video.

yah if your pc doesnt have those inputs there is add on hardware you can buy @ best buy and etc

If its a Mini-DV tape, I can rip it all to my computer today or tomorrow, and burn it to a DVD for you.

I have a TV tuner card in my one PC so worst case PM me or I can bring it into work (production company) and probably have them rip it to a DVD

So the best guys were completely baffled on what i needed they told me there is no way to transfer date via Audio Video cables or Mini-DV tapes.

They are idiots....so what format is the video you have? a mini-VHS tape?

do you have the camera still or like one of those adapter VHS tapes? If you have something to play it with that we can hook up threw RCA cables we can get it onto a computer...

Look up "TV tuner cards" if you have an open PCI slot in your computer you can install one, not sure what they cost now I bought one a few years back and think it was $150ish...but you could always buy it and return it after you are done...it should have either a coaxial or RCA ports on it...then you can connect a VCR or your camera to it and that should get you what you want....

yeah i got the camcorder still, i was thinking about it i got a DVDplayer/buner with a VCR one of those 2 players things from walmart like years ago i was wondering if it would be possiable to burn the videos to a dvd on there an then rip them onto my computer. Any good suggestions for software if possiable?

Hmmm...i give the VCR DVR combo thing you got a try that would be easiest for you and free, once you put it on the DVD you should be able to rip it onto the computer and convert it to whatever format you want...Divx converter should work for that but i can't say I've personally done that, hopefully someone will chim in that has some experience
