big turbo evos need your help: Free ribs included

is anyone in the philly area willing to give me a ride in their big turbo evo? im looking mostly in the gt30r or 50trim range. im trying to decide between a new turbo, or just selling the car and moving on. if anyone is willing to help me out it would be greatly apreciated.

Stop up at JNZ. I'm sure Chris' car would convince you to stay with the EVO. 502whp on pump gas with no meth or alchy.

^^^ yea im sure its nasty, but im not looking to go so big. i hate lag. thats why im leaning towards an hta3076 or twinscroll3076 or 50trim. 50trim keeps popping up as the best street turbo (93oct) call me a pussy, but big lag and meth just dont interest me.

Thats funny you say 50 trim when you have a green? The green out does the 50 trim kits on the market when you boost them. Do a search on Evom and see that the green outshines the 50 trim when you boost it in the 26-30 catagory with meth, then fall back on your street tune with ECUflash and have a great street car. The Green produces way more Tq. under the curve and the same HP numbers with stock spool with flow of 47lbs. If a street turbo is what you are looking for the Green is the best of both worlds but you must get a meth kit and great tune to really open up the Green. If you are looking for a great pump gas only turbo the HTA gt3076r is your turbo of choice. JNZ will hook you up ust PM them I was suprised at the quote that I received from them for a full bolt on kit, if they don't come through ETS will! I have been researching this route for months and still haven't decided. As far as I can tell I want the Green with the Aquamist HS5 kit and go mid to low 11's on meth or HTA 3076 and go the same on pump but sacrifice some daily spool and drivability. I say go meth and high 20's psi!

well my "20g" isnt the fpgreen unfortunately. and im really trying to avoid meth as i just dont trust it. i have been talking to tom at ets and hes the one steering me towards the 50trim actually. i will give eric a shout to see what he has. i was under the impression they only had those atp kits which dont really appeal to me.

So you have a 20-9-5, I would sell it on Evom and get yourself a FP green. Nothing like a stock appearing turbo that bolts up to the stock manifold that flows 47lbs. I really think you will be disappointed with a 50 trim, as most do perform but not for the money compared to other options! If you spend that kind on money on a kit please go 3076.

You have a tactrix right? If not you need one. Download Scantech from Aktivematrix forums(its free) and check and clear codes on you own! the tactrix cable has been a $90 godsend for me.

I told him he would hit 5's easy with that beast! Any details..I guess I will hit up his threads. I am sure that the 502 is a safe "I don't want to blow my bottom end" tune and that HTA 35r has more in it if he wanted to.

Are you serious? Maybe not on a HTA kit but on a stock 2.0 i it is not exactly street freindly nor is it even close to autocross freindly. But the thought of full spool in the 4500 "if your lucky" category is just out sight for me on a stock block 2.0. Now on a 2.3 stroker that is a different story. If you are shooting for a good 1/4 time the yes the 35r is what you want but it is far from a street freindly daily driver turbo.

Serious as a heart attack. Have you ever ridden in a 35r EVO or are you just reciting what you've heard on the internet?

I drove around with a 35r on my EVO for about a year and it was more then fine for a daily driver. this was way before the HTA option was available too. I didn't believe it was going to be streetable because of what everyone said about lag and all. Infact, I was convinced I wouldn't like it before I even put it on. Once I drove the car I quickly changed my opinion.

If I was upgrading my turbo I wouldn't think about going smaller then a .63a/r 35R.

havent driven in one, but i am scared of the lag i guess. i would rather have a great street setup than have 500whp. its just my style.

pulled the codes. p0300 which i dont think was cleaered out from changing my spark plugs. now i got to deal with p0171 lean bank 1... god only knows how im going to fix that cause it could be anything from a bad o2 sensor to boost leak ect.
