I agree that now the purpose is met with the forums. Unless you are a show club like New Image Motorsports or along those lines.

i agree with him. me and my friends started out a car club up in the poconos so i guess you would say nepa, and we went from like 20 cars now down to 8 cars and 4 bikes. i even opened a website for it and all. but the power of forums killed the car club. kind of like that old school song i heard played here. tv killed the raido star...lol i crack myself up sometimes anywho come done my car club i have an rx7 just like you just i am a fc :D

All the clubs up here in the scranton/wilkes barre area are a joke. they are all hung up on having the most gawdy body kits on their slow cars. Not my taste. I hang with friends and we roll to shows together, I guess you can say we are a club. Well more like a biker gang with a couple cars.

I agree completely. I am in two car groups, one with Dave and the other with my brother and friends. But none of our groups focus on body kits, just speed. So in Wilkes/Scranton, apparently speed doesn't go far since everyone wants such flashy and bommy cars. Hence the little amount of members we have.

This is why I love this place. You guys and girls are honest. There is no need to start another car club that nobody will know about or care about. Thanks for making this decision for me.

But keep in mind, we always go back to fundamentals or basics. Take for instance that once a meet pops up on TST, if its a weekly variety, most likely give it 2 to 4 weeks before it gets busted. Sometimes forums makes things too easy and too large as compared to a clubs.

I think regional TST clubs do serve some kind of purpose. People tend to take ownership and responsibility in teams than just a forum. If TST members took more responsibility at meets, spread the word in smarter, better ways. We might not keep losing spots to hang out and have some fun.

Hey, but then you can chose your club like you chose your friends. I am sure all of us have certain favorite "TST" members that you just wait for them to do something stupid. Can't avoid them in a forum. And if you say anything, you have almost gauranteed they will do even more nonsense to be a bigger PIA. I would love to see PA section get broken up into different regions. We have a some definite regional "TST Crews". Might be a way to keep us in check.

Small separate topic, but could be a good way to weed out the trouble makers that have been a disease to TST. I am just speaking out loud, would love to hear peoples thoughts on what they expect this 2008 car season to be like. I have the bad premonition, this year we might lose to many meet locations, and will have too many members signing up and ruining the year. Like Ford Focus owners lol.

I had a car club for 5 years, but after a while it became more of a hastle then fun. But yeah, the whole online thing and forums works pretty well too. The basic goal of TST and the dump load of other forums out there, is like a car club, get car enthusiasts together in various ways for numerous events.
