Okay so I was taking my buddies back to Villanova from Widener tonight, and I needed gas bad so I went to a Lukoil in Chester. Mistake, I know. Well as I pull up I notice this guy standing by my car and I'm like ahh damn. So I open the door slightly and he asks me for two dollars for the bus, and says he will pump my gas for me for the two dollars. I only had like 20 cents, and I told him that, and he said he'd take whatever he could get. My friends in the car were like 'no no no what are you doing,' but I told him I'd give him the 20 cents if he didn't pump my gas. I feel like if his life is so ****ty that my pocket change will help him out a little, then why the hell not. What am I gonna do with two dimes anyway?

What would you have done? Told him to piss off, or given him the dough?

unfortunately you dont know what he'll do with the money... and because of that i dont give people money. if i've got a drink or a snack on me i'll happily hand it over though...

Reminds me of a story my dad told me. 10 years or so ago he got gas near Temple, and a beggar came up with a rag and a spray bottle, but the rag was sort of lumpy. He asked my father if he'd like his windshield wiped for $2. My father said no thanks. He took the lump out of the rag, and it was a nice and rusty hammer. He then repeated said wiping question, and my father gladly and nervously paid.

but seriously, there was a guy who was always at the wawa by my house when i was 14-15. he would do back-flips for change. ALWAYS went to that wawa. he always made money to fund his crack addiction.

i remember going to wawa one and some guy came walking up to me and my friend asking us if we had any change.because he had not eatin in a while. we politely said we didnt and continued into wawa. after we got in we started talking and we bot agreed that he really did look like he was sick and hadnt been eating. so we both pitched in an got him a hogie, bag of chips and some water. after going out we looked for him and found him sittin on the ground. we handed him the food saying "here you go enjoy." after we gave him the food he started to thank us.we got in the car and went about our business. in the end i felt good about it.

i had a guy come up to me and compliment me on my exhaust once. then he proceeded to tell me how he just put flowmasters on his car. then he proceeded to tell he how he was living in his car. i gladly gave him a couple bucks just cuz he put flowmasters on a car that he was living in. ****ing awesome.

I went to pick up my friend in NYC at 2am one day, he works at ESPN which is right next to the Garden and I caught a light right at the garden intersection. I had the top down at the time. 3 people approached my vehicle individually asking if I had spare change or a dollar to take the bus, making up excuses like they just lost their wallet and the police will not help them.

I've given change before. If the man wants to get drunk, or smoke crack, let him. lol. He obviously doesn't have anything else to make his life much better, might as well I guess.

When I lived in the city I came across people asking me for money all the time.

If I didn't want to give anything I said "Sorry buddy I don't have any cash on me." and that usually gets rid of them.

Otherwise when they ask I tell them they have to earn it. I had one guy sing me the entire Gilligan Island theme song and another guy did a back flip. Well worth a few bucks IMO.

i also had a guy who wanted to pump my gas for money, i said no but ill give you a power bar and he said he dont want that lol, i also had a dude who wouldnt stop asking me to take his picture, if u give them food they are just gonna spend their food money on drugs, and i dont care as long as they are happy. i never give homeless people money, but if i have food ill give it to them

i just hate when they bother me its soo annoying, had a guy tell me like 3 jokes then asked for money lol, when i see them tryin to talk to me i just act like they arent there.

every situation is different, but if i have extra money i will hook a bum up...life is to short to act ****ty towards those who have little or nothing. If a bum needs a buck or two be it for a bus ride or a bottle of booze or whatever he can count on me for spare change. bums are people too

one time in philly at a wawa there were some bums opening the door for everyone. we bought him a slimjim but realized he didn't have any teeth lmao.

oh and you can't forget about the window cleaner at pat's steaks.

I usually never give anything though, McDonald's will hire homeless people as long as they have means to a shower...

my dads gf was watchin some show and i was in the kitchen and some chick seen a bum on one of the hollywood streets and took him in and got him a shower and took him to the dentist and **** lol, id be so pissed if i was that dentist

went to the detroit auto show about 3 years ago. FREEZING temperature and almost 2 feet of snow i was walkin out of this pizza place and some bum asks me for some change for food. my friend and i handed him out left over pizzas and went on our merry way
