ThePrimerSuspect's Daily Beater SRT-4

Since there was no interest in the cougar build, and since im just bored, i figured i would give this a shot.

This is my first new car, and from the looks of things it will probably be my only new car. I found this in October 05 after i blew the civic up. It was the last one that they had, and that they were going to get. I sat in the dealership for literally 9 hours on a saturday before i finally got the deal i wanted (the deal breaker was that they had to buy me my first 3 tanks of gas). Anyway, it rained the first 4 days i had it non-stop, which was good because i couldnt beat on it during the "break-in" period.

First thing i did was tint it and throw my system from the civic into it. second thing i did was rip the system out because it was way to big and heavy for the little neon to handle. then, the modding began. like every SRT owner i bought the mopar BOV, which was a waste of money to say the least. loud and annoying, just gay in every sense of the word. it was the riciest thing i have ever done and for that i apologize. then came the downpipe. Needswings with e-cutout. this would have been the greatest thing in the world if it didnt leak all the time. i loved going from stock sound to bleeding eardrums with the flip of a switch. but i opted to sell that and buy a full turbo back. i sold at the right time too because they were on backorder so i got what i paid for it new and bought my 3" catless turbo back. then, it was stage 2 time. not much to say except it was a waste of money.

my ex bought me the LED tails for christmas (probably the only good thing that came out of that relationship). i love them.

i babied this car from day one. washed and waxed weekly. synthetic oil changes every 2k miles. and honestly had it at the track ONE TIME, FOR ONE PASS!!!! for just under 2 years, everything was perfect. then it happened........

some ****ing toolbag made a left hand turn in front of me doing 40. i swerved and missed him, but took out a no parking sign. and, of course, he ****ing ran.came back from the bodyshop better than ever though (my body guy is THE BEST).

as it sits now its wingless, carbon fiber hood and black housing headlights. ill get more pics up when i get it back. and when i get a camera (ex stole that when she left too).

Performance:
3" Turbo Back
AEM Intake
Coldside Hardpipe w/HKS BOV
Mopar Stage 2
Mopar STS
Energy Suspension bushings
Greddy TT

Visual:
Depo LED Tails
Depo Black Housing Headlights
Wingless (holes in trunk filled in and painted professionally)
Foglight Surrounds Painted to match
15% Tint

Still to come:
Definitely needs a drop
Painted stock wheels
HID Projector Retrofit
AGP WGA
Solid Motor Mounts
Meth Injection
Hotside Hardpipe
Big Front Mount

thats about it.................for now. im not looking to go crazy with this car. let me know what ya think!

when i had the KDW's on there it gripped really well. but these tires suck to say the least. theres some roll, but its not too bad. the bushings definitely helped but its still not great. i dont really get the chance to drive the car like i should.

reliability good?? reason I ask is that I see the 04/05 with anywhere between 50 and 70k miles rolling through the auctions selling for as low as sub $10,000...wanna know if its a safe buy as im lookin at a replacement for my car come summer.

im at 26k. i had to replace one axle (my fault) and the rack leaked (warranty). umm..........thats about it. i hear people having a lot of trans problems with the 05s, but honestly i have never had an issue (knock on wood). aside from the shifter being a little stiff and stubborn going into gear when its cold out, i have no complaints what-so-ever. just try to find one with low miles and as little mods as possible.

Thanks man. We almost got one some time ago but it was modded so I told my boss not to get it. Then when he was in another lane bidding I was walking around and saw a lower mileage mint ACR sell for a steal (11,700 i think it was). Now I just gotta get out there and drive one it might be the total opposite of what i expect.
