Bikers Come In!

So who's got a motorcycle in PA? Reason I ask is I know that the roads suck ass as it is down here but how do your bikes handle it? Do you guys just ride on the highway or streets too? Come in and show off your ride

Sold my R6 2 years ago to rebuild the motor in my Neon...but when I did have it I rode it all day everyday weather permitting. There wasn't many places I wouldn't go with it...Just gotta watch the road and avoid the potholes LoL.

It was my first sport bike. I had a few dirtbikes when I was a kid and I learned on my dad's old ass Yamaha Virago or whatever the hell it was called. It was more of a cruiser style bike.

honestly if you watch the road and pay attention the roads aren't that bad, bikes handle it fine, my GSX-R does great

Where in PA are you? There aren't too many nice twisties down in lower Bucks County, but we ride all the way up to NE PA for the nice backroads. Most of the roads aren't too bad, just watch out for potholes like someone else mentioned. If you want to get into trackdays, the Poconos and the New Jersey Motorsports Park (opening in June or July) have quite a few this year.

I am right near Abington (Jenkintown to be specific). Looking at bikes right now cause of gas and I have been late to work 3 days in a row cause of ****ing traffic heh. Track would be nice once I learn to control the bike!

If you are looking at getting one, I would suggest really looking now before the weather warms up. Once it does, prices are going to shoot up quick. Also, you will probably here this from most people, but buy a small cc bike, 250-500, to learn on and take the MSF course (its FREE in PA). Also, buy gear. Ok, no more preaching. Have fun when you get it and be safe.

i got a bike. i usually just ride wherever. i say get a older 600 for a first bike. something carburated.(sp?) the throttle response is not nearly as touchy like the fuel injected are. i had a 2000 zx6r as my first bike. nothing special but still had the power i wanted. to me if u get something any less your gonna get bored of it in 6 months and want something better. my advice is take the motorcycle training course they offer. you need your permit for it and it teaches you some vital things. i now own an 06 kawasaki 636. im from the lansdale/ montgomery county area.

I saw a smokin ass bike at the harley dealership, so I stopped in to look... turns out it was a Night Rod Special. Probably the most beautiful bike I've seen in my entire life. I'm considering an 05 xlh883 custom for my first bike... but I don't want to spend the 7k on it... I'd rather spend 1k on a pos to drop the **** out of it, then buy the night rod when I'm more comfortable

I was going to bring it but my GF decided to come along so I didnt even bother de-winterizing her.

I was in my Mulberry Jetta parked in back by the dumpsters lol.

I couldnt agree more with buying a bike 500cc and less for a first bike. There is zero reason to buy anthing bigger for a first timer.

agreed.

Dont get a high performance bike as your first. speed+inexperience=death, slow+inexperience=injury. injury is much better than death.

trust me. my best friend Keith VanDyke bought a TL1000R as his first bike. remember that warm monday in the second week of january? that was the last day i ever saw him
