Watch your e-mail inbox!

This should be pretty obvious, but just throwing it out there. Parents got this email today and just waited for me to check it out, it was what i thought. Email is as follows:

Dear Credit Union member,

You have received this email because you or someone had used your account from different locations. For security purpose, we are required to open an investigation into this matter.

In order to safeguard your account, we require that you confirm your online banking details.

The help speeed up to this process, please access the following link so we can complete the verification of your Federal Credit Union Online Banking Account registration information.

[LINK REMOVED] it looks like an IP number, followed by the name and .gov

If we do no receive the appropriate account verification within 48 hours, then we will assume this Federal Credit Union account is fraudulent and will be suspended.

The purpose of this verification is to ensure that your bank account has not been fraudulently used and to combat the fraud from our community.

We appreciate your support and understanding and thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you,
NCUA® Security Department.

It will be sent "from" NCUA® Security Department

Their e-mail address is importnt@ncua.gov

Subject: Important message from National Credit Union Administration !

Do not fill out anything in the link, they take your information and then use it to get money from your bank account

Just a quick heads-up, spread it around other forums if its not there yet. Looks like the link has been disabled already, but post around in case anyone already filled this out so they can contact their bank.

The security department usually calls you and if no one is there to pick up the phone they will leave a broad voice mail just telling you they are the security department and they need to speak with you. No details will be left on your voicemail. I know because 2 weeks ago someone stole my visa card number and put 10k in charges on it from Iceland. Luckily for me, security caught on to this and froze my account.
