Im looking to get a Shiba Inu . I want to adopt a dog because i would rather give a dog a home then buy a dog into a home.

I dont want a really old one. I would prefer a puppy until about 2 years old.

So i was wonderign if anyone could recommend a place either local or semi-local that they have personally dealt with or have heard good things about

Make sure you are ready to devote a lot of time to a Shiba! They are very high energy dogs. My cousin has one named Bonsai that they cannot even let out when people come over. Keith's friend has one also that is nasty/very mean. Do a lot of research and be prepared to take the dog to training if need be. They're beautiful dogs though.

Good thing about Basenji's too is that they do not bark. I saw one at the Willingboro Market place thing on rt. 130 over the weekend. He was maybe 2-3 months old.

Thanks for the responses guys. I know kathy and i met her dog meeka plenty of times and i liked how she acted, and how the breed of dog was. I am prepared to devote alot of time to one. I just gotta keep looking for that "right" one.

I have looked at that rescue before. They have some beautiful dogs. Quite a few purebreds too

Ive been looking at the site for a little bit and they do have some very nice looking dogs. I would take the cropped/docked Dobie in a heart beat if she could go to a home w/other dogs.

That and Dex (the 2 legged puppy) made me tear up a little, so sad.
