lost dog

i seen a sign for a lost dog last week and theres a 10k reward for it

i just realized it was my neighbors dog, and i been hearing an owl outside lately, and about a week ago i heard a very high pitched squeal outback, i thought it was a rabbit but i think it was my neighbors dog, that was probaly the most expensive meal an owl ever ate.

what do u guys think? u think an owl would go after a medium sized dog?

Whats a medium sized dog? I consider mine medium and it weighs about 70-80 pounds. I dont think a owl could eat that could it? Or maybe im wayy of in my definition of medium.

Go look outback for the dog. If an owl did get it knock on your neighbors door and ask politely for your reward. They didnt specify dead or alive.

My sister has a >10lb Chihuahua mix that was out in the back yard one day. My Dad went out to get him and right above him on the power lines was a hawk. My Dad came out just in time bc that sucker was eyeing the little guy up. (although I wouldnt mind if it was eaten by a hawk )

My dogs breeder told me that hawks have taken his puppies before. Never heard of owls doing that though. Guess it depends on how small the dog is.

owls are alot bigger than hawks i think, this was probaly 2 weeks ago, i doubt the dog is still there, even if i can find it, my neighbors parents house is behind mine too, plus horse farms everywhere, it might take a while to find it, im sure a fox would of finished it by now. the dog is a big white fluffy one no bigger than a lab

i think the wing span is 6 foot for a full size owl

depends on the type of owl...

some are big, some are small, some are really small.

If the dog is the size, or nearly the size of a lab, I doubt an owl, or a hawk for that matter, would go after it unless it was already hurt and dying.

Their beaks and talons aren't made to kill large animals...

A chihuahua would probably be open game for an owl/hawk... I don't think they'd even go for a healthy terrier unless the bird was on the verge of starvation and desperate.
