lets not even say the word bench racing but stock for stock and price for price...im not going to lie, i've driven each one of those cars and really liked em all but we all know what i picked in the end...i have a couple video's i can send...i am willing to like go to some track day and let people drive my car...everyone thinks they're overpriced and slow but 95% of them haven't driven or raced one...i paid 15,000 for mine and have NEVER been more in love with a car in my life...

You can get 350Z's pretty cheap now, I'd say thats a nice buy. But if youre gonna DD it, I've always liked an RSX or an SRT 4
OR you can double your budget and get a Supra

i personally, i would invest in something much better. if you can afford it of course, just saying, an rsx would be weak sauce compared to what you reallllly want.

There are lots of decent Supras.
But anyways, back to topic... Well, if we're talking about 350Zs I would consider getting one of the later model year ones. I heard those are less prone to suffer tranny issues. And the guy with a Z.. 4th set of tires with 12K miles? Holy crap, do you burn out at every light?? lol. Zs are nice, but yes it does seems a little more difficult to make power with simple bolt ons. Given the price though, they're awesome. I wouldn't mind DDing one of those... maybe if my Corolla magically takes a dump on me

To the OP, have you ever considered a GTO? The earlier models are selling pretty cheap and you may even be able to squeeze it enough to get into one of the '05 LS2's. Awesome bang for the buck, great interior, easy to mod and the insurance won't rape you either.
To the guy with the Z...if you're stock and you claim that you beat LS1 cars, I'm going to have to go get my boots, cause it's getting deep in here. The FASTEST stock Z's run like 13.7. The fastest stock Camaro's run 12.9. There wasn't a LSx car built that wouldn't stomp on a Z in a straight line with all things being equal. I'm not hating on the Z, I personally like them, but don't go around over-estimating you or your car's abilities. Beating a couple "fast" cars, doesn't mean you can go babbling on about the Z's superiority. There's a "fast" food chain and the Z is in there, but definitely no where near the top.

Id get the Type-S. Its fuel efficient, quite reliable, well built, nice interior, nice exterior, and i've seen them modded pretty nicely too.
