Andy at Verocious Motorsports... two thumbs up
I went down there this past weekend to get my new setup tuned. He knew it might take a while to get things set up and he was there as long as he needed to be in order to get things running well... on a Saturday nonetheless. I like to understand what is happening and why, and he was great about answering all of my questions, and taking my input too. I let him know that I was just looking for a solid tune that he was comfortable with and that I didn't need to break any records, and I feel good about what he delivered. Although not many people grasp the concept, its not all about peak power, or power at all... it takes a blend of smoothness, safety, and power to make a good tune and thats what I have now. Unfortunately a part of my alcohol injection was damaged (turned out to be my fault, I'll explain below), so the tuning got cut a little short. For right now I have a map on my car that runs really well on pump gas and he told me to let him know when I was ready to come back for the alcohol tune, very accomodating. We've been exchanging emails and ideas since the tune which is something I don't think many other tuners would take the time to do, or be open to. I just feel good about the whole thing and wanted to share my good experiences for anyone who was considering going to him. At any mod level, and no matter what (good) tuner you go to... get your car custom tuned! Its the most important mod you can do for your car as far as power goes as well as safety. Base maps are for suckers ![]() Here's my car on the dyno for anyone interested in seeing the setup. The place is actually pretty huge, they just have the dyno over in the corner here...

mmm i think the ceramic coated tubular headers got as hot as 560*F, ceramic coated cast exhaust housing of the turbo was like 350*F, and compressor housing was only like 75*F or so? i dont know, maybe Barry remembers better.
we tried to check both endtanks of the FMIC but they were more or less the same... no fun.

i have a meesley little COBB stage 2 PROTUNE by Andy. I 100% agree with Troll Andy is the man and definitely accomodating especially when he mentions about the emails. I have been bouncing ideas and thoughts off him and he gladly replies with his input. I will DEFINITELY be going back to him one i get my VF39 and FMIC installed for another tune.
Hey Troll what happened with your alcohol injection? What were your #'s? |
