A co-worker is looking for a new set of all seasons for this WRX wagon, he is looking into the Toy Proxies 4... anyone have these before?

I'm not an all-season tire guy, so if YOU are, please give me your opinion and what your favorite is.

I'm running them now. They shine in the rain. On dry they push quite a bit around turns and feel very sloppy compared to stock STi tires. In snow they'll do the job but there is quite a bit of slippage. They're a good tire if you want to be prepared for anything, but bad if you want to have fun in one specific season.

my friend had them on his civic. They get loud as they start to lose tread. Like sometime we couldnt hear the radio loud.

the PZero Nero M+S are supposed to be amazing all-seasons. you can check out tirerack.com for user reviews of any type of tire to see what other good options are out there.

I have the proxes 4 ... I love them. They are great on dry pavement, well compared to the 92's, handle superbly in the rain and even can handle a few inches of snow. As i just found out they arent the best in deep snow or on ice but thats what ice/snow tires are for. I did alot of research and the proxes are prob the best bet for the area. The Pzero nero m&s are also a great tire but they are geared towards more dry weather performance with some all weather capabilities. I called a bunch of tire stores that sold both and all agreed that for the area the 4 is better than the nero. They will last longer, perform better in snow and ice and wont cost as much.

I have Falken ZE-512's, I think they're great for the money. But if price was no object I would have gotten the PZero's.

I second the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S's They have excellent ratings being all seasons. They are really great priced too.

I run the Nero M+S':

Since I only got them in November (+ I was still breaking in my car at the time), I haven't run them completely heated on 90 degree tarmac.

Pros: They performed extremely well in the dry and I haven't really hydroplaned in the pouring rain even at 70+. Can handle up to 1~3" of snow reasonably well at speed. At closer to untouched 3" of powder I wouldn't dare go much over 50, but then again, no one should without tires on step shy of studs.

Cons: The tire pattern definitely favors dry and wet over snow. The inside pattern uses three gutters and v-cut flat grooves for dry traction. ONLY the outer two rings have the snow treads.

From my experience so far here's how I would break down the tread and rubber composition: 35% Dry, 35% Wet, 30% Snow.

NOTE: I was told Pirrelli discontinued my tire (after just 1.5 years) and the new tire uses a completely different tread. I must suspect they improved the tire since Pirrelli seems to be pretty good about upgrading tire lines.

i have the proxes 4 too. little road noise which is nice. they hook good on dry pavement, and do well in the rain. i don't drive this car in the snow so i don't know how they do there. overall i'm happy with them. good price and a good tire.

I already gave you my recommendation for the Pzero Nero M+S via aim.

They are really good tires. I only got stuck once, and it was when i e-brake overshot my driveway, and had the car on two wheels. Otherwise, I've been out with the snow tires guys without a problem ;)

Also, ask Bryan, these tires are good enough to SCARE you in the dry.

I'm rockin the Proxes 4's on my WRX as well. I like them a lot. They are great in the wet and dry. They did better than the RE's in the snow, however the 225's that i have tend to feel floaty in deeper snow.

Agreed... 225/50s def feel floaty. But they look excellent on the stock rim, and handling is great with them, in my opinion!
