best electronic boost controller?

Anyone using an electronic boost controller?

Care to share your opinions? I hear the greddy profec II is good, I'm thinking of buying it...

Is it true that it will eliminate a factory wastegate solenoid?

It all depends on what setup you have. I have the Greddy profec spec 2 and it is fairly simple once it is explained to you. Bare bones, but works. The solenoid is extrememly noisey though in mine. There is a noticable "clicking" noise as the solenoid starts it's duty cycle.

A boost controller with per gear settings is great for limiting or maximizing your boost on a per gear basis. If you have a large TBed FWD or RWD car, you may not want full boost in gears 1-2 due to traction. No problem, just tune the EBC so that boost only hits 75% or whatever you want in those gears. This is also great when running a large TBed AWD car that doesn't quite make full desired boost in lower gears due to lack of exhaust flow. You can run different gain settings to get the desired boost in every gear, instead of having to tune a basic EBC in high gear, and be left with less boost in other gears.

Blitz and APexi make EBCs like this, but they are around $500+
