Help With Image Format....

Can someone change the image format, to CDR Format, but somehow make it better clarity (600dpi or so)? But it needs to be just black and white, no gray scale, and it needs to be in the vector format (from the place that needs it like this "Black and White only, no color, no gray, no grayscale – BLACK AND WHITE ONLY
It needs to be saved as a VECTOR file.". If you can do it, please read the bottom paragraph!

Also, I just want the reaper outline, not the scrolls/lines in the background. If you can do it, I'll paypal you $15 or whatever. If the complete image is too complicated, could you possibly try to just working on the upper portion?

Thanks
Steve

What kind of files do you need if I give you an image?

If your wanting something we do not have in stock you are welcome to provide it. We do that a lot with stuff like family crests, and so forth.

If you would like to provide us an image to laser here is what we need:

High Resolution (600dpi works great!)
Line Art
Did we mention, HIGH RESOLUTION
Saved as one of the 4 following file extensions: cdr, ai, psp, pdf. We MUCH prefer the cdr format as it is directly compatible with Corel, the program we use. Also, if you use Adobe Illustrator and have the latest version you will need to save it as one version back. The newest Illustrator version is newer than the newest version of Corel and Corel will not open it.
Black and White only, no color, no gray, no grayscale – BLACK AND WHITE ONLY
It needs to be saved as a VECTOR file.

(Just FYI: cdr is Corel Draw - the preferred format – the .pdf files seem to be working well too)

When working on the image, remember, when put onto a lower receiver, the background will be black, the image will be white. Usually what you will be working on is a white background, your image is black. When you are, remember everything you see in black will be a white image on your lower receiver.

If you go to a graphics person they will be very familiar with these terms.

The laser is VERY accurate and will faithfully reproduce each and every imperfection in your submitted image. For best results, create the image using a vertical height measurement of something like 4-6 inches. Once saved as a vector image check it at a size they will fill your screen (without zooming in on it). Then set the image size for 1.45 inches vertical height, or 1.65 inches wide. That is the size we will be using on the AR type weapon magazine well. Once you have the image the correct size, zoom in on it so that it again fills your screen. If it looks good both times you filled the screen you have a good usable image.

NOTE: Many people think that simply “converting” from one file format to the needed format will get the job done. This is very rarely ever the case. Almost always the image starts off at to low of a quality to be usable. Every time there is a conversion form one type of file to another there is a loss of quality. Obviously starting with a low quality image, converting it and loosing more quality is not going to produce the super high quality image that the laser needs to give you a top quality job. Remember, the better the quality in, the better out. The worse in, the worse out. This simply can not be stated strongly enough.

CDR format is corel draw i beleive. The only way to make it 600dpi or a higher res is by re-illustrating it in illustrator, or shrinking the size of the picture. I can do that for you if you would like but it will take a bit. Also i wont/wouldnt do it in corel, only in illustrator. Corel is old school, kinda like the microsoft paint of illustrating.

Whatever works best for you as long as it falls under the guidelines in the quote. And it can definitely be taken down in size. The end user will be engraving it on a "Then set the image size for 1.45 inches vertical height, or 1.65 inches wide."

I think that for the given size that it will end up being, it might look better if I just use the reapers face with the hand point.

Thanks!

Correct! It's important that it follows the guidelines in that quote though.

Something like this,

And the website isn't working right now (was earlier), but if you go to the gallery some people have already gotten it done...

But the hand on their lowers seem oddly large.

me and steve talked and he decided to add some of the highlights on the hood. Also it kind of sucks that Steve cannot use any of the greys because you loose alot of detail in this object when taking them away.
