1 - Series?

So who's anticipating the new BMW 1-Series?

128i: 3.0L I6 w/ 230 hp and 200lb-ft
135i: 3.0L twin-turbo I6 w/ 300 hp and 300 lb-ft

I am quite excited about it.

Yes I agree, those are a nice new series coming out. That engine is very nicely layed out, think it's the same one in the 335xi.

I think it'll be nice. I'm not insanely enthusiastic about it, but it will allow a different segment of buyers to get into a BMW more affordably than the 3-series (and sans all the extra weight). I'll be placing my order on a 2008 M3 Coupe in roughly 2 weeks. Should be delivered in late April

I've heard that the base price on the 135 is $34,900 I believe.

This like the fifth thread on the 1-series...

I really like it and would consider getting a 135i after they've been out a couple years. There were tons of problems with the 335i's. Although with the BMW warranty it isn't much of a concern.

The only thing I have been disappointed with is that the car isn't as light as it was supposed to be. They are now quoting about 3,500 pounds dry on the car. That isn't much of a weight savings compared to a 3-series, but you are giving up a lot of space. I guess they could only cut so much considering that the 1 and 3 are essentially the same car underneath.
