Questions about gas

Well I'm getting the hatch back on the road soon. It's had the same tank of gas for about 4 months now.

Does anyone know at what rate gas degrades? I don't think I'm going to boost on the current tank of gas, but if I can what the hell.

the gas shouldnt be bad. my car sat for like 8 months with the same gas in it and when i got my **** back running i had no problems. just go top it off with what ever your gonna run plus an octane booster. should be fine.

you'll be fine. if octane booster makes you feel better use it, but i highly doubt youd have any problems.

also, have you even ran it boosted? the odds are regular is still in it, you may want to head to your local gas station and fill the rest up with super until you're ready to beat on it.

I get the impression that the turbo engine was installed and run for a month, and then the car took 4 months to be painted. With this it can be assumed that it has premium in the tank, no? 4 months is okay if the gas cap has remained on. My car is down for the entire season of sub 60 weather and I'm fine when using the same tank. Some people keep atvs and boats, etc at summer places and whatnot and are usually fine. I guess the cut-off rate for discading old petrol is about 8-12 months or so. Just be sure to inquire with the body shop(which one out of curiosity?) if the cap was kept on for most of the time to prevent moisture and air particulates from entering the tank.

Well this is what happened.

Engine/turbo setup was installed and running since around mid August I guess. I got the car painted about a month or so later. I drove it for about two weeks when I hit a deer and wrecked the whole front end. Since then it's been down getting repairs, I drove it a few times intermittently since then but it hasn't seen more than 15 minutes driving at most. I'm hoping to get the final front end piece later this week and the car will be driveable again (like, not get pulled over driveable). I just want to make sure when my right foot gets itchy to hear that turbo spool up again for once it doesn't detonate and go boom because of "old" gas that isn't the same octane as what I started out with.
