Twin Turbo SVX motor in a WRX... 1100+ whp goal

Found this thread on NASIOC about a twin turbo WRX that's being built using a 3.3L SVX block. Very interesting... it should be the new record holder when its complete, although with a completely different block (an H6). Anyways, here's some info he posted on it and some photos...

Hey guys,
I just want share this stuff with all of you since this will be a Scooby that will put the Supra's and DSM's were they belong. (Slower than a Scooby)
We plan on making around 1100 AWHP with the car on a sleeved motor and built bottom and top end. Tym and I have been working with the Rigoli brother's on some ideas for the car. They are sending over there built auto from the 8.88 red wagon. They have also shared some interesting things about how to get power out of the motor and the 1100 AWHP is not going to be 2 hard to achieve. Were we will be debuting the car at the St. Louis NOPI event on July 23 and 24. Do to time restrictions and not getting pistons and the sleeved block back in time, we make not have the fully built motor in the car. We may have to run one of the mock up engines but none the less everything thing else will be done and we will make some passes both days with the car. We would love for any one to come out and support us at the event. The end goal is to run high 7's to low 8's so we can be competitive in the Pro Street Tire class against the supra's.

We are going to be using twin GT35r turbos one on each bank, So one turbo will be fed by 3 cylinders. The turbo's are going to be located in the stock fog light location.

We are working with Wilson Intakes to sponsor a direct port nitrous setup and burst panels for the intake manifolds. The nice thing about the burst panel is that it helps save the intake manifold if you have a nitrous explosion.

We are running an air to water intercooler with the throttle bodies built in to it. Kind of like the white talon Tym did a few years back that was in Turbo Magazine.

So far we have some sponsors on board and I would like to say thanks and give credit to them for all the help.

That's nuts, if all goes as planned it's going to be a giant. I would love to go to the track and see a relatively mild-looking (minus the chute and two turbos) WRX run high 7's. I hope they don't vinyl it up too much, that paint is beautiful.

Damn i saw that awhile ago posted on rs25.com linked to nasioc. The car looked nothing like that then, it was a picture of when they crammed the engine in and nothing more

Motor is built to 3.5l as that is the largest NOPI allows. I give them cred for funding such a build, but shooting for 7s when you haven't even run 9-10s yet is a bit optimistic.

They have a ton of hurdles left to cross and they are the pioneers. Using AEM EMS on an untested platform is just one of them. Boosting an untested platform is another (not to mention 45psi which it would have to take to make that HP). They are already claiming 1100whp before they even have it finished which is a huge mistake. Didn't is take about 8-10yrs just for the 2JZ to start making power in that range and it isn't even AWD?

We shall see where they end up, it is just that I have a more realistic view of what the results will be.

I would think that 1100whp would be close to a world record for AWD. What is the current record (probably held by a Skyline or Porsche)?
