The local honda dealer had one of the Mugen SI's parked in the street lot for a while (it might still be there). I guess they lock it in a garage at night since it wasn't sitting on cinder blocks after two days!

Nice shots!

Those new Accords are badass.

If that Mugen SI wasn't priced like a joke, I'd have a GREAT new D.D.

$30K. maybe a little more after taxes/titles/etc. some people think you can just get an si sedan and get the parts to make it similar. but you cant since you're not able to since you can only get the replacement parts if its an authentic mugen si sedan. a friend of mine's dad is a master tech @ a honda dealership and he took me for a ride in one, and if i couldve afforded it i would own one. the thing rides and handles amazingly

AGREED!! very nice car... but that is a very high price tag. Especially considering the additional pricing is mostly fluff and aesthetic upgrades. Is there any additional performance mods at all on the Mugen edition? I don't remember, but I know it's not justifiable.

from what i believe...
front lip
front grille & badge
side skirts
rear lip (i believe it has a rear diffuser)
rear badge
adjustable rear wing
wheels
tires
exhaust
shift knob
console badge
suspension

im not sure if i've covered everything though. iirc all of those parts from the dealership (if you have a mugen si already) would cost upwards of $8,000 for it all. even with all that and a $22k si sedan, you still dont have a limited production car that will most likely be worth a pretty penny if kept in good condition. and dont forget how much thieves are gonna love this car...see below
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/15/2...-on-dealer-lot

currently im thinking about selling my s2000 and getting one of these. drive it like 5 miles a week to keep everything in good condition. maybe one day itll be worth alot

I saw one a few days ago and it looks nice, would I spend that kind of money if I had it on that car, NO.

However it's 1/1000 and the first Mugen Honda to ever make it to the U.S. The parts are going to be really rare cause your going to need proof of ownership of a Mugen Si & a corresponding vin # to purchase any replacements. So looks like they are taking the exclusivity of this car serious and protecting the owners resale value.

Anyway, here is the est. MSRP breakdown on cost of the parts:

Front Under Spoiler $529
Side Under Spoilers $400
Rear Under Spoiler $577
Grille $398.20
Shift Knob $101.80
Mugen Suspension $1293.60
GP Wheels (08 style) $2317.60 (set)
Exhaust (pre chamber, muffler) $1,000 (just a guess cause this exhaust isn't available anywhere but judging by other Mugen exhausts thats what I would guess.)

Not all figures are exact.

So that on top of what a normal Si costs and inflation do to the fact its 1/1000, and thats where you get your price.

Love it or hate it I think the Mugen Si and the S2k CR are steps in the right direction for Honda and I think they are just testing the market here in the US.

Somebody posted this a while back when it was first coming out.

exactly. it was either me get the s2 for $15k (i got a deal and a half on it) and be able to modify it to my liking without having to worry about de-purifying a mugen si, or get the mugen si for twice the price and barely get to enjoy it. ill stick to the 1st vehicle
