Martang's Celica GT-S...monorail car??
![]() Thats the day I bought it. I didn't do any mods at first just research. Then in I think October of '05 I bought a TRD exhaust. I didn't really take many pictures of it. Then in the spring of '06 I bought a Fidanza short throw shifter, and an unpainted Kaminari bodykit that I never put on. Sometime over the summer I hit a retread from a tractor trailer, and a raccoon which broke the one side of my front lip. Then in August of '06 I bought a carbon fiber hood, clear corners, black housing headlights, Hypermotive rear strut bar, an APR front strut bar, and I redded out the turn signals on my tail lights. ![]() ![]() Then in September of '06 I finally took it to the track and ran a 15.5 at 90 mph. Over the winter I blew my clutch so I got an Exedy OEM replacement clutch and Fidanza light weight flywheel. I also installed Tein S-tech lowering springs over the winter. During the last snow storm in like March or April I ran off the highway took out a mile marker sign and got stuck in a ditch for 2 hours. ![]() ![]() For about a month during the spring I had an Apexi PFC but I sold it because I couldn't afford nor was it worth it to get it tuned. In July I got an ebay short ram intake and I took it to the track again to see if I could do better with the clutch, flywheel, and intake I believe the best I got was a 15.2 but I don't remember the speed. Then in August I painted the stock rims black, took off the TRD exhaust and got part of a TRD Kazuma exhaust from the rear axles back which is 2.5'' piping instead of the stock 2.25'' inch piping without a muffler, and got a black Kaminari which I only kept on for about a month. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not much has changed since August just now I'm wingless and I took it to the track last month and ran a best of 14.8 at 95 mph. Now that I have a beater I can do a lot more things that I had planned to the car. By spring time I hope to have a PPE race header, MWR valve springs, and a PFC. **EDIT** I found the pic from the fall run

i dont mean to sound like a dick but this is what i dont like...i dont like the hood, i dont like the wing and i dont like the broken front bumper. the only thing i remotely like is the wheels..a few mods/changes and you'd have a great car.

Surprised me when you said you sold the PFC. That is the single best mod you can do to a 1ZZ or 2ZZ, especially if you already have an intake and exhaust.
Fix that front bumper before you do anything. Looks rediculous. haha

Yea these things handle so damn well. I'm hoping to get more suspensions mods next year. Yea I get mixed feelings on the wingless but it will look better it should flow better if I get the bodykit.

I plan on going n/a and I'm aiming for at least 200 whp. It seems like a low number but there isn't really anyone that does n/a. If I can get to there I will be happy because with the Greddy s/c it only pushes about 215 whp. If I ever get close to being there then I'm thinking about setting it up for auto-x because I've always wanted to do that.

I really think that the Celica handled better than the Sti. Iono, maybe its just me.
I always got comments that its a girly car. Hope you don't run into the same issues. |

I don't think there is proof yet of a 2ZZ breaking 200whp normally aspirated. So odd. I know a guy that did 195 in a Spyder and he is about the highest that I know of.
Until I hit the rollers at R/T that is. <crosses fingers>

I kno that there are a couple close. There is a guy down in virginia that has been working on his car for awhile, and he was gonna get it tuned but the shop that rebuilt his motor messed it up and it blew while he was breaking it in.
