the beginning of the rest of my life...

Well, it looks like I'll be going from contract to full time employee in about a month. Still not sure what my pay will be as that is something that will be discussed tomorrow.

Now comes the part where I have to start thinking about my financial future I'm too young for this grown up ish...

Anyway, there are two thing in my future that I'm sure of. A house with a two car garage, and a factory five cobra kit. Those are the two most important material objects in my mind and I will stop at nothing to have both.

Is there anything, within reason, that you WILL have? No if and or buts, your life would not be complete without?

I will have my cobra, come hell or high water... I will have it... and it WILL have a 427 crate motor... (unless I do something stupid like get married or have children then I'll settle for a FI 302)

Ideally I will be building a house with a garage that connects to the basement and allows nearly free movement between the two. The basement/garage would be a large finished space with the usual upgrades... tv, bar, pool table, built in stereo system, car lift, tools, etc

So stop playing with small turbo's you dingle.

I would like to own a shop with a built in AWD dyno. But I could settle for a two story garage with a lift in the bottom floor and upstairs have seperate extremely clean engine/trans building room and another room for fabrication.

I'd like to build an SFWD car, and one of these days I WILL build a 2000hp+ twin turbo LSX.

Certainly would like a family as well, get married and have a few kids.

Ender - what kind of Corvette? I just saw an 00 Z06 for 20K in NJ, lol.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

I WILL have a house with a fully-equipped garage, with a lift in it. I don't care if its one of those small in-garage lifts, I just want a damn lift for my car.

I WILL have at least $50,000 in non-retirement fund investments. And I will use profits from this investment to pay for my Lotus Esprit

I WILL have my dream home in under 5 years, designed by me, built 90% by me (I'm one anal mother****er!!, and I started designing the home 2 years ago), and I WILL have a 997 turbo...unless a newer model comes out in 5-8 years. And the most important step that I have already taken, is that I WILL have a comfortable retirement. They are the 3 "material" things that I have wanted since I learned the value of a dollar (except the 997, I have wanted a 911 turbo since I was 8, so 14 years ago, and that 993 turned in to a 996, which is now a 997) .

Some day I WILL home-build a lotus 7. Low budget build, well under 10 grand, 302 and a 5 speed.

Also hope to have the small horse farm my girlfriend wants, and a 2+car garage there. For the immediate future, I am determined to rent a place with a decent garage. Pretty sure I can afford it. Definitely affordable if I only pay the minimums on my student loans, but doing that greatly delays the farm idea...
