Just got a new camera

I went out to take a few pics and wanted to see what people think of it. Picture was not touched by any program except for resizing.

Also recommendations are welcome.

Congrats on the purchase, but try avoiding shooting directly at lights like that. And if you have a UV filter on thats where the lens flare is most likely coming from.

If you put the fstop up to somethign like 22 you would get the unique effect from the light. sersouly get a tripod and remotes for night shots. remotes ftw!

What kinda camera did you get?

It's a Canon Rebel XT with a UV Filter on....the camera was on a tripod with an iso setting of 400. The lip kit is not getting painted at all because it's carbon fiber ^_^

Nice choice in camera. what mode did you take the shot with?
I think the pic looks good, the car just seems slightly out of focus.

I went with what the book calls creative setting which was the P setting. I'm still able to adjust the aperture and also the shutter speed which is awesome. It's way better than my previous camera but I still use my SD400. The picture is a little out of focus because i didn't realize I had the auto focus switched on instead of being on MF.

I haven't used the P mode all to much. I'll have to see what it has to offer. I generally use the AV or M mode. Yea the auto focus is a bit touchy and can quickly focus on something else by accident. Glad you like the camera though. It's good to have some more canon love here.
