Weird clutch noise...

When I was letting my car warm up this morning it sounded like my clutch was squeaking/making a churning noise. This was when the clutch was disengaged, when I would push the pedal in the noise went away. Any ideas?

Bob, could be a few things.

throwout bearing.
Pilot bearing (although that is hard to hear)
transmission.

You would be surprised at the amount of noises you will hear in the winter. 2 things happen in the winter
1- its colder so oils and greases are thicker.
2- its colder so your windows are up not down aka-noises that were always there are now heard

If it goes away when the clutch is pressed in its most likely the t-out bearing
If its slightly still there with the clutch in, try putting it in gear then and see if it disapears. If it does, then change your trans fluid
