You might run into some problems if the tank has only been set up for 2 hours.

The sucker(Pleco) will most likely die unless you feed him algae pelets since you have no algea in the tank yet. What kind of water did you use, and did you use any biological supplements or declorinator in the water before you added the fish. If you didnt youll most likely loose most of the fish.

Yea, I agree. The Goldfish might live because they are beasts. In about a day or two your tank will become very cloudy. This is normal. It is called a bacteria bloom. The bacteria that is needed for a stable tank starts to multiply. This is bad for the fish however because it chokes out the oxygen supply that the fish need to survive.

The most important thing for a household aquarium is having good, stable bacteria cultures. Basically it needs to go through what a normal lake or stream has. Dead fish, waste, uneaten food etc. Most people that know a thing or two about household aquariums wait about a week (two weeks if real anal) to add fish to their tank. Most of the time they will add some cheap fish to **** up the tank to get the bacterial cultures started.

The pleco will most likely die. They aren't hardy fish at all. Some species are extremely hard to keep. I suggest you pick up some of these Aquarium Pharmacueticals Products (API): Stress Zyme, Stress Coat, Tap Water conditioner, Aquarium salt. Also get some Mardel Coppersafe to kill off any parasites if you have them. You can't use that if you are planning to have any invertebrates in your tank though.

Wish you luck. Let me know what's goin' on.

Oh and wtf you sold your gs?

I guess we'll have to wait and see what fish live over the next few weeks lol. I didt get any expensive fish to start, so thats a good thing. I guess ill get some of that stuff and see what happens.

Nah, light isn't much of a factor. It is mostly for live plants. If you leave the light on for much of the day algae will start to grow. I suggest this. It will establish your tank quicker. Always leave it off during the night though. Sometimes if I come home all wacked I forget to turn the light off in some of my tanks. lol yea fish need to sleep as well. Any other questions? lol I know more about fish then cars.

if it has spots on its body its called ich or ick. they look kinda like salt grains. u can get some tank additive from a local pet store to kill it.

Why not just put the light on a timer?

lol if he wasn't expensive then just flush em. No sense gettin' worked up over a lil cheap fish. I've never had a fish with fungus though. Thats probably because I always check out my fish before purchasing.

If your ever buying expensive fish, make sure that you check out the fish and the tank. Pick out a strong specimen. Make sure he fights not to get caught by the net. Also look at the tank and the fish in it. Make sure they have no cloudy eyes, ich, fungus, anchor worm etc. There's a ton of info on line about fish diseases and treatment. Most of the time it's hard to battle them.

The two most common freshwater tank pests are ich and gill flukes. Ich is white spots on the body of the fish and gill flukes are almost microscopic white little slug like parasites that eat at your fish's gills. Just make sure your cautious in buying fish from some places. Some don't take care and treat their tanks.

Because I've only done it a couple times. Mostly in the summer but I pay attention to my tanks often. Having them in different rooms makes it too hard to pay attention to sometimes.

lol goldfish will eat anything. Don't put another one in. break it apart into quarters. Feed it another quarter and see if it goes to it. Try and throw it on his head. It's tough but you can do it.

You cannot kill Ich, it is a parasite that is always living in the water, but it only becomes visable when it finds a host. Usually Ich targets new fish becaust there slime coat has worn off because of stress. By getting something like Stress Coat or Stress Zyme your actually speeding up the fishs ability to produce slime.

With frequent water changes and treatment it can help it a lot. Most of the time it is hard to cure disease in a tank.

I also forgot. Do you have a heater and a thermometer? Set it at 78-80, that should be fine. What brand filter do you have?
