it's really not that great of a camera, to be honest. you'll get excessive vignetting. with the single piece meniscus lens, your images will naturally have soft focus and chromatic aberration. the soft focus is something that can be a useful feature but the CA ruins most images, imo.
if you turn the aperture switch and don't notice a difference, this is normal (in a way). I think the camera is made in China; something occurred during the manufacturing process and the switch doesn't toggle between 'sunny' and 'cloudy', so you're stuck on the 'sunny' setting so your aperture is always going to be f/11.0

Should be a fun little camera. Not anything that will give you great masterpieces but none the less you'll still be able to capture some fun moments, and maybe use it's "downsides" in an artistic manner. None the less, and i mean no offense, but it does look silly. What color flash did you get?

I know that its not the best camera. I didnt buy it for the quality, I bought it for the unique photos that it creates with the light leaks and colored flash and so on. I just wanted something to play around with. There is a knob that you turn on the top that changes the flash, you can choose from a yellow, red or green filter.
To Ilikerice. I read up on the camera and its flaws. I know about the manufacturer defect that causes it to always be on sunny. There is some modification that can be done to it for you to be able to switch between the two. http://www.squarefrog.co.uk/holga-ha...erturemod.html

This camera is not made to be high tech or even high quality for that matter. This camera is the basics of all cameras and it creates really awesome photo's. Toy cameras are awesome, i just wish i dident have to use film or i would use them alot more.

My Holga doesn't have the flash, but then again I paid far less. I took out the 6x4.5 frame inside and added a bunch of electrical tape and it works surprisingly well for what it is. You do realize that it take 120 size film, so many places can not develop it, so it will need to be sent out (unless you do it yourself of course).
I would use mine if I had access to a darkroom again.
