The01Cavs progress thread..........

Well here is a quick up to date thread about my car. I have done a lot of stupid repetative things to it but then I have finally done some correct things so here we go.

The morning after I purchased the cavalier. It came home from the dealership pulled right into my garage and I installed the wheels and took off the window stickers.

Here are some more pics.

I decided to debadge and demold the car, drop it on sprint lowering springs on stock struts, and put a muffler on it.

It was winter time so I put the steels back on but also changed the muffler to a OBX greddy evo style muffler and added some mesh in the grill.

Came across a deal on a set of clear corners and carbon fiber tails for it.

Had a small change of heart and decided to paint the wheels graphite.

Couple shots of my cav with my friends Zx2

Cavalier at the track

Took the pinstripe off of the car and clay barred and detailed the exterior

Installed a Megan racing catback exhaust, and H&R lowering springs still on stock struts.

cousin bought a 02 cavalier so I traded him corners and tails to get my car back to the stock look.

Bought these 17" wheels off of a friend of mine.

Put some paint on them and installed them on the cav.....

Got a awesome deal on a set of Eibach sportlines and Tokico D-spec adjustable struts.

Changed it up a bit and painted the wheels silver. I kinda think it was a mistake now to do so. also installed Chrome altezza tails.

Didnt like the look so I put toyota tails on the cav. Also painted my mirrors and installed a Cavalier LS Sport spoiler.

Added a Z24 Cavalier Convertable Strut tower brace.

I just started sanding the 17" wheels tonight so I can put them back to graphite, and also installed a poly upper motor mount insert from Rk sport and also a Autotrans interceptor electronic shift kit.

Looks pretty good. LS lip should finish off the body decently, and leave it at that. Any other plans for the motor? Glad to see the chrome tails gone, the only other tails that are good are the Toyota.

Also, this posted on JBO?

I have been thinkin about what I am gonna do kit wise. I am a member on JBO and have a progress thread on there. The chrome tails didn't even stay on the car 2 days lol. I got them for free then sold them and made $50 off of them. I would like to put some money away and drop in a Ecotec but I dont know if I will do that or put the money away and turbo my OHV motor that is in the car currently.

i think before you do a motor swap you need to make the car look good. hate me if you want but, a lip kit is going to make your car 10000000000000000000x better. however, its your money and your car so you do what you want. good luck with the project.

here is what I am thinking kit wise. Keep in mind I need to replace the rear bumper cover anyway.

Wings west W-type front lip and sides

either with this rear lip W-type rear lip

Or this rear bumper 03-05 LS Sport

Stray cats blow the big one! I guess they thought that my car was something to try to sit on at night and well I guess it tried to jump on my hood and couldn't and slid down it with it's nails out and scratched it up in a few spots. I had just washed it yesterday morning to and it's muddy paw prints were smeared all down the front of the hood and bumper. I cleaned the area off and used some scratch x, meguiars polish, and some wax and got the scratches gone for the most part. Still ticked off about it though.

Here are a couple vids I got after adding a factory replacement magnaflow cat. It's a high flow cat that still utilizes all the factory piping and flex joints and what not.
