What's the advantage of Lying?

I would love to hear everyone's opinion about Lying. I know sometimes you lie to others only to protect them from something painful and that I understand but why would you lie for your own advantage? I don't see where it's going to take anyone......

I was surfing on the Scion forum and I saw this guy's turbo setup and i was like wow......that turbo manifold looks freaking nice and so I go and sent him a PM about what turbo kit he's got and then he replies to me saying it's a Peakboost turbo kit. At first i was like oh....then I asked around to see if anyone knew how much it was for that manifold and I find out that turbo kit doesn't exist and the kit that the guy has is the Turbo Toyota kit. I would understand it if the kit he has was a custom built kit but if it's not why lie?

Everyone thinks they know a real compulsive liar! Me, 95Nracer and Sesolcsti worked with the king of lies. He got off on it and had more stories than the highway patrol. He atually went as far to lie about his wife being pregnant!

lying only delays truth, never really cancels it out, so why lie. took many years for me to realize this, and i always kinda get a nice buzz/moment of pride when i get to make the choice of truth or lie, and chose truth

not that i am perfect because i have definitely lied for my own gain...

most of the time when people lie like that and make up 10 different stories to everybody is because they've lied so much that they just start believing their own lies, and then when they get caught out they have no clue what the hell your talking about.

IMO lying doesnt get you anywhere. it just makes matters worse when people find out or when it just so happens the truth comes out. you should just tell the truth from the beginning, it will save alot of time lol.

Hitler said in a speech, if you tell a lie long enough, often enough and to everyone, that they will believe you. He also said that people are more likely to believe a big lie rather than a small lie.
