Looking for a used 600cc bike, whats the best bang for the buck
The Yami R6 - Suzuki gsxr 600 - Honda cbr600 - Kawi Ninja 600. I'm looking at no onder than a 2004. I would like to purchase in the winter since prices are the lowest then. From just reading a bit online, it seems the gixxer is the lowest cost and it seems to be the most popular. One thing is I like lower seat hight bikes. I know they all can probably be lowered, but thats extra expenses I would rather not have to front. Also I like small and nimble bikes, which one of those fits that catagory? Finally do any of them come with projector headlights? I rode a friends 04' gixxer 600 and I think it had a single low beam projector. I know the yami has an amazing dual projector setup, but I think thats only on the R1. |

my 01 r6 was sick. i miss it like crazy. i beat a lot of 600 gsxrs and i liked it alot more because everyone has a gsxr. so i would never buy one. im pretty sure the r6 has projectors (04 and up?). IMO, go with the yami. i thought it felt a lot lighter than the gsxr, and it feels more stable than the ninja.

any plans for the bike like stunting or racing?
for knee dragging i love yami's, theyre small and handle the best IMO stunting you cant beat an f4i, best balance point of any bike and its a honda so it will run forever

My friend has an 04 yamaha R6, only 7,000 miles. He traded plastics, gas tank, and fearings for the 06 Raven limited edition, so it looks basically like a Raven. Not sure what size you are, but I think he is also selling/including his korona bike jacket and KBC helmet.
He wants $6,000 obo. Let me know, you can come check it out anytime. here is a pic:

Well ive riden all 4 and owned a cbr600rr for a lil over a year till someone was nice to steal. So im a lil partial towards the cbr. For the obviosious reasons..... 1. Its a honda, no one makes a better bike. 2. You will actually stand out in a crowd, instead of having a gixxer like everyone else in the world lol...etc Now with all that said if i wasnt going to buy a cbr i would buy the kawi 636! Best 600 IMO!
PS I bought another Honda and this time went with the 1000....still no problems and still loving every minute of it.

get a gsxr, everyone has them because they are the #1 rated 600 bike overall, who cares if everyone has them, better quality bike.

I kind of agree, but I heard the 2007 cbr600rr is rated #1 now. I have a K6 gixxer myself, so I am partial to them, but if I get another one, it will definitely be the 600rr. My friend has an 04/06 600rr and I love riding his bike. Just feels a lot smoother and easier to lean in the twisties.

If it's your first bike, stick with a used 600 (99 or earlier bike), if not... go with a gsxr 750, that's the best bang for your buck.

The R6 is the most comfortable. The Honda has the best engineering but the seat is like a plank. Never rode a kawi so I don't know. If it's your first just get a gixxer. It's going to be the cheapest and since its the most popular, it'll be the easiest to sell.
