stripping paint from wheels

just want to know an easy way or a good way to strip paint from wheels without stripping the factory clear coat. im limited on money so im looking for something i can do. i did a search on google, not much came up so i thought id ask. i painted my snowflakes flat black. after that, they got chipped, spotted. it'll be the last time i'll ever paint wheels. any help is apprciated..thanks, later.

Clear coat usually goes on top of paint. I don't know how you're going to strip the paint without stripping the clear.

If you use any kind of paint stripper then it will take it down to the bare metal. Then you will start from scratch. You could maybe lightly sand the top color coat that you sprayed on. Might have to use something really light, but you will still scratch up the factory clear. Best bet is to respray with a wheel coating or get them powder coated. Either way you still have to take the rattle can spray paint off the wheels.

yep. that's just about the only way. there's only 2 ways to get paint off of something, mechanically (sanding or blasting, etc) or chemically (paint stripper, etc). you want to do it cheap like you said, so a can of aircraft remover from walmart is going to be your best bet.
